ADVANCE IN GLORY 2 – CHRIST IS THE GLORY OF GOD.
“And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.”
2 Cor. 3:18 (Amplified)
Â
From yesterday’s discussion we understood that, the glory of God is the beauty and excellence of God. It is the expression of His divine splendor.Â
Â
It is the aggregate expression of God’s nature, mighty power, and His character.
The glory of God is the visibility of God’s presence and power.
People saw God by seeing the glimpses of His power and splendor.
Â
A dimension or degree of God’s glory is revealed in creation and all His mighty works.
Â
“The heavens are telling the glory of God; they are a marvelous display of his craftsmanship.” Psalm 19:1 (TLB)
Â
Though the created things declare the glory of God; Christ is the very substance of God’s glory.
He is the embodiment and complete expression of the glory of God.
Moses was recognised as one who spoke to God “face to face.” (Exodus 33:11). He requested to see the glory of God; he had a glimpse of God’s glory and couldn’t stand on his feet, but bowed and worshipped the Lord. ( Exodus 33:18-23; 34:5-10)
Â
When Moses requested to see the glory of the LORD GOD; God spoke of His face, All of His goodness, His name, His grace and His mercy:
Â
“And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.” Exodus 33:18-19 (KJV).
Â
Moses had a personal deeper encounter with God than anyone. Yet he only saw the back of God. According to the scriptures, the Lord covered Moses’ face (so that Moses will not see God’s face).
All of God’s goodness, God’s grace and mercy are demonstrated through Christ.Â
Our Lord Jesus, doesn’t have to speak to God “face to face“; He is the face of God.Â
Â
It is in the face of Jesus, you behold the knowledge of the glory of God. (2 Corinthians 4:6).
Â
When you see Jesus, you have seen the Father. (John 14:9).
He is the express image of the Father.
“God, having spoken to the fathers long ago in [the voices and writings of] the prophets in many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the truth], and in many ways, has in these last days spoken [with finality] to us in [the person of One who is by His character and nature] His Son [namely Jesus], whom He appointed heir and lawful owner of all things, through whom also He created the universe [that is, the universe as a space-time-matter continuum]. The Son is the radiance and only expression of the glory of [our awesome] God [reflecting God’s Shekinah glory, the Light-being, the brilliant light of the divine], and the exact representation and perfect imprint of His [Father’s] essence, and upholding and maintaining and propelling all things [the entire physical and spiritual universe] by His powerful word [carrying the universe along to its predetermined goal]…” Hebrews 1:1-3 (Amplified Bible)
Â
Now we are not in search for the beautiful splendor of God; for Christ is the embodiment of all of God’s splendor and glory.
To receive Jesus into your heart, is to receive
the glory of God into your heart.
Â
Which means you have in your heart:
Â
– the splendour of God,Â
Â
– the magnificence brightness of God.
Â
– the excellence and absolute perfection of God.
Â
 – the preeminent dignity of God.Â
Â
– the gracious and kingly majesty.
Â
– the blessedness of God’s beauty.
Â
Hallelujah!
DIG DEEPER
(Colossians 1:15-18; 2 Corinthians 4:4-6; John 1:18)
Â
WE PRAY
That the reality of Christ as the glory of God, will flood our hearts and minds.
