YOUR PRICELESS PRIVILEGE AND SUPREME ADVANTAGE 2

“But more than that, I count everything as loss compared to the priceless privilege and supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord [and of growing more deeply and thoroughly acquainted with Him — a joy unequaled].”

Philippians 3:8 (Amplified Bible)

How is it a priceless privilege and supreme advantage to know Christ Jesus and to grow more deeply into your fellowship with Him?

You will find some answers in Colossians 2: 9 – 12;

1. Verse 9:

“For in Him all the fullness of Deity (the Godhead) dwells in bodily form [completely expressing the divine essence of God].”

You can access the fullness of God only in Christ Jesus. The word “fullness” is from the Greek word, plērōma which means the totality of divine powers, presence and riches in glory.

2. Verse 10:

“And in Him you have been made complete [achieving spiritual stature through Christ], and He is the head over all rule and authority [of every angelic and earthly power].”

Jesus is the head of all rule and authority. Thus, knowing Him brings you into the participation of His authority. The knowledge of Christ gives you spiritual stature to exercise His authority.

3. Verse 11:

“In Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, but by the [spiritual] circumcision of Christ in the stripping off of the body of the flesh [the sinful carnal nature]”

The Knowledge of Christ establishes you in the consciousness of the circumcision of the controlling carnal nature which hinders you from living the fullness of the divine life at work in you.

4. Verse 12

“having been buried with Him in baptism and raised with Him [to a new life] through [your] faith in the working of God, [as displayed] when He raised Christ from the dead.”

There is a new life which you live through Christ. You can walk in the complete reality of this transcendent new life by the knowledge of Christ.

Get this, the more you grow in the knowledge of Christ, the more you see what God has dispensed into you through Him.

The knowledge of Christ makes your spiritual root go deeply into His life.

You no longer become enslaved or made captive through philosophy and empty deception or pseudo-intellectualism.
You begin to progress further into your union with Him and live above the traditions and musings of mere men.

When you get so absorbed in His knowledge you live a life enriched with His glory.

What more is priceless and of supreme advantage than this?
