BE FULL OF THANKSGIVING

having been rooted and being built up in Him, and being strengthened in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding with thanksgiving.

Colossians 2:7 (Berean Literal Bible)

When people want to see change in circumstances they pray. They declare the word of God. And exercises themselves in faith. But very few people know THANKSGIVING is a demonstration of faith.

Beloved, you don’t only thank God after a miracle. You practice thanksgiving even whiles you make supplication in prayer. To pray is a step of faith.

It is confidence in God answering you as a loving Father. However, your prayer of faith will always be done with thanksgiving.

“Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.” Philippians 4:6 (Amplified Bible).

Wherever there is faith, thanksgiving abounds.

Thanksgiving is the evidence which reveals the certainty of your faith.

Let thanksgiving abound in your daily living.

Thanksgiving does these things in you:

1. Through thanksgiving you acknowledge the Lord in your life and recognizes His blessing in everything you do.

2. Your faith and confidence in God becomes effective; thus, you build an irrevocable confidence that you will experience or see the manifestation of what the Lord has said.

3. Thanksgiving causes you to live in the glorious realm of joy, far above anxiety and sorrow. It has a way of establishing and overwhelming you with restfulness in the midst of chaos.

See how Jesus demonstrated power through thanksgiving:

“Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. So when they were filled, He said to His disciples,“Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.”  Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said,“This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.” John 6:10-14 (NKJV)

Jesus blessing the loaves and fish with thanksgiving, was able to fed the multitudes and had an overflow.

Concerning Lazarus’ resurrection, Jesus didn’t have to utter prayer of supplication or petition. He said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.” John 11:41 (NKJV).

That is faith!!!

Before He got to Bethany, Jesus had already made the pronouncement of faith.

At the tomb, He didn’t have to speak many words and pray for a miracle to happen.

He gave thanks, as an affirmation that the Father has heard Him. This was God showing us how to act in faith.

Thanksgiving is the highest demonstration of faith.

As you pray, as you declare the word, and as you take inspired steps of faith towards that goal, BE THANKFUL.

Beloved, always abound in thanksgiving, for it is FAITH.

Shalom.
