…WITH AN OPEN HEART

“Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.”

Acts 17:3 (KJV)

In the present day Israel, and other Jewish communities around the world, some Jewish leaders have forbidden their fellow Jews from reading the New Testament (Brit Hadashah).

Even with the reading of the Tanakh in their synagogues, some exclude certain Messianic scriptures.
The Tanakh is the Jewish sacred book, just as we have the Bible as a sacred book. The TaNaKH is an acronym, it refers to the three sections of their shared text. The Tanakh (or TaNaKH) consist of:

– Torah (the Law and the Pentateuch)
– Nevi’im (the prophets)
– Ketuvim (the writings)

The Tanakh is what Bible Translators refer to as the “Old Testament” in the Bible.

Note:

As I have explained, the Old Testament is not Genesis to Malachi. The Old Testament refers to the Covenant which was wrought at Sinai (Exodus 19-20). The Old Testament is not a book of the Bible. The Old Testament is an arrangement of a dispensation at Sinai. The Jewish people must know that the covenant which was initiated at Sinai was not part of God’s promise to Abraham. Thus, that covenant at Sinai was not in God’s plan and was a parenthesis. The real deal was what God established with Abraham. God did not deal with Abraham according to the Old Testament or the “Old Covenant”
He dealt with Abraham according to the Covenant of Promise (See Galatians 3).

It is called “Old” because its effect and function are now obsolete. There is now a New Covenant or Testament. Just as the Prophet Jeremiah declared:

The day is coming,” says the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt. They broke that covenant, though I loved them as a husband loves his wife,” says the LORD. “But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel after those days,” says the LORD. “I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people” Jeremiah 31:31-33 (NLT)

These Jews only restrict themselves to the reading of the Tanakh and don’t even attempt to open the New Testament. They don’t know that the New Testament was written to them as well.

The first words in the New Testament portion of the Bible unveil the very core root of the New Testament. The New Testament has its roots in two major covenants:

1. The Covenant of Promise which God established with Abraham.
2. And the Everlasting Kingdom Covenant God established with David.

“This is the scroll of the lineage and birth of Jesus, the Anointed One, the son of David and descendant of Abraham.” Matthew 1:1 (TPT).

These covenants were not only limited to Israel or Jews (to be precise) but to all people.

The Anointed One did not come only for the household of Israel but also as the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world.

The New Testament authors were able to comprehend the concealed reality of God in the Tanakh (Old Testament portion of the Bible), by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit of God gives understanding. It’s the Holy Spirit who moved the prophets to write about Jesus Christ (Messiah) even before His days.

Which means it will take the Holy Spirit to decrypt the words of the Prophets and the scriptures.

The Tanakh (Old Testament) doesn’t contradict the New Testament. Neither does the New Testament contradict the “Old Testament”

The New Testament portion of the Bible is the unveiling of the mysteries in the scriptures.

Most Jews refuse to open the New Testament and it is also a deceptive strategy of the adversary to keep them blinded and their minds veiled from the true revelation of Jesus.

When one turns to the Lord with an open heart, his or her heart and mind will be flooded with the glorious light of truth.

“We are not like Moses, who used a veil to hide the glory to keep the Israelites from staring at him as it faded away. Their minds were closed and hardened, for even to this day that same veil comes over their minds when they hear the words of the former covenant. The veil has not yet been lifted from them, for it is only eliminated when one is joined to the Messiah. So until now, whenever the Old Testament is being read, the same blinding comes over their hearts. But the moment one turns to the Lord with an open heart, the veil is lifted and they see. Now, the “Lord” I’m referring to is the Holy Spirit, and wherever He is Lord, there is freedom.”  2 Corinthians 3:13-17 (TPT)

When you genuinely study the scriptures, it will not move you away from Jesus. A study of the scriptures with an open heart will lead you to Jesus Christ.

The Lord was not exaggerating when He said, “… But the scriptures point to me” John 5:39 (NLT).

The Psalmist said:

“I long for Your salvation, O LORD, And Your law is my delight.” Psalm 119:174 (NKJV).

The law doesn’t give Salvation, the law will lead you to Salvation. Those who truly delight in Salvation will be led to the Lord. Because the Lord is Salvation.

Maintain an open heart to know the Lord through the scriptures.

The knowledge of the revelation of Jesus is what launches you into the enjoyment of your freedom to participate in the inheritance of the saints in the light.

OH THANK YOU JESUS!
