DEALING WITH FEAR AND ANXIETY
“He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.”
1 Corinthians 14:4 (NKJV)
Some people have refused to accept the reality of tongues-speaking. Some of these people even make a mockery of this special gift of the Spirit given to all believers.
Some think that because the tongues believers speak are not understandable, they are useless and mere gimmicks.
Tongues speaking is the communion between the one speaking and God. To speak in tongues is to speak mysteries.
Whereas prophecies edify or build up the Church or benefit all the saints; tongues speaking builds up the individual believer.
“But [on the other hand] the one who prophesies speaks to people for edification [to promote their spiritual growth] and [speaks words of] encouragement [to uphold and advise them concerning the matters of God] and [speaks words of] consolation [to compassionately comfort them]” 1 Corinthians 14:3 (Amplified Bible)
Tongues speaking is one of the quickest means by which a believer experiences personal edification. The apostle Paul said, “I thank God that I speak in [unknown] tongues more than all of you” 1 Corinthians 14:18 (Amplified Bible).
Take note of this in the opening verse:
“He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself…”
The word edify is from the Greek word “oikodomēo”, which means to construct a house or to be a house builder. It is also an expression which connotes the strengthening of a great or huge building.
And when you speak in tongues (note what he said), “EDIFIES HIMSELF”.
Paul didn’t say, he who speaks in tongues edifies only his spirit. He said HIMSELF. This has to do with your entire being. Through tongues-speaking, you build your spirit, your soul and your body.
Through tongues-speaking, you make supplication of power to your body. This deals with anxiety and fear.
Anxiety leads to depression and also triggers your flight-or-fight stress response. It releases a flood of adrenaline into your system.
The moment anxiety persists within you, it will lead to chronic stress, and even when the stressful moment passes, your body remains in that state where the system is flooded with adrenaline chemicals.That may lead to weakness in the immune system. The moment your immune system becomes weak, it becomes vulnerable to prevent infections and viruses.
This is how people who are often stressed get sick easily. Do you now understand why you become weak after you have been overwhelmed with sorrow and sadness for a long time?
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” Proverbs 17:22 (ESV).
That is why the Apostle Paul charged the brethren in Philippi:
“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6 (ESV)
Instead of worry and sorrow, pray. And most importantly to build up your entire being, pray in tongues.
When a believer in Christ speaks in tongues, he releases spiritual currents of power and unleashes energies from the Spirit to his entire being (spirit, soul and body).
You receive endowment in your spirit, and also in your mind to make decisions, to direct your emotions, to be refreshed and quickened in the body.
Don’t go a day without speaking in tongues.

One of the devices of Satan is to use or take advantage of unforgiveness. When you are unforgiving, the adversary will outsmart you with his devices. Beloved, you need to learn to SHIELD UP BY FAITH against the arrows of bitterness, offences, anger and sorrow. SELAH!

A tongue talking believer has a strong immune system and can easily get sick or become weak.
Tongues speaking is a landline in the spirit that helps you contact the heavenly headquarters on every matter. Anxiety is a spiritual attack that is formed from the deceptive darts of the adversary
No matter how factual the situation may be do not be anxious.
The Spirit of a man is the strength of a man. It is that which when leaves a man his body becomes an empty vessel and anxiety is a tool that breaks spirits and when the spirit is broken it shows on the body.
We must not forget life is lived from the inside so when a body is being crushed it starts from the inside that is why we must speak In tongues so our spirits always builds up and gain muscles to fight and defeat the deceptive thoughts of the enemy through the right knowledge that gives mastery
