GOD IS MERCIFUL

“So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy”

Romans 9:16 (NKJV)

Are you already beating yourself up for your failures?

You seem to think you have tried all you can, and nothing beautiful seems to happen?

Are you already discouraged about the outcome of the year?

Are you thinking the year will end with you as a failure?

Do you think your mistakes are too huge for God to help you?

Or do you think all that God is plotting is how to destroy you?

Before you throw in the towel.
Before you give up. Before you think there is no help for you and it is all over.

PAUSE TO PONDER on this:

GOD IS MERCIFUL!

It is not how good or smart you think you are.

It is not how well you are connected.

It is not your effort or your plans.

It is not the size of your offense.

Turn to God to RECEIVE HIS MERCY!

The concept of God’s mercy has not really been understood and esteemed by most brethren in Christ.

Others even think since they are now in Christ, they don’t need the mercy of God. Some also think the Grace of God is greater than the Mercy of God.

The concept of God’s Mercy is not limited to the Old Testament.

The concept of God’s Mercy is a picture of His heart.

GOD IS MERCIFUL!

“But the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving…” Daniel 9:9 (NLT).

All that God is, is Eternal or forever and ever. Therefore, God’s Mercy is not temporal. God’s Mercy is the attitude of His heart. His MERCY IS FOREVER (Jeremiah 33:11).

Understand that the entire work of Salvation began with the Mercy of God. The eternal work of salvation is not only by grace. It is also according to the richness of God’s Mercy.

Even though your new birth in Christ is by grace through faith, it is according to the great Mercy of God.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” 1 Peter 1:3 (ESV)

The Mercy of God is the game changer; it showed up for man to make the difference (when by corruptibility, all hope was lost for man).

In the most hopeless situation, God’s Mercy brings new hope to you.

In the New Testament, we see the fullness of God’s Mercy.

He is IMMENSE IN MERCY. For God to be immense in Mercy means He is full and rich in Mercy.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” Ephesians 2:4-6 (KJV)

The opening verses of Ephesians 2 (see verse 1 – 3) points out the hopeless state of Man before Salvation, BUT God’s richness in Mercy made the difference:

– Dead in trespasses and sins. BUT GOD…

– Walked according to or controlled by the course of this world, the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. BUT GOD!…

– Lived in the lusts of their flesh. BUT GOD!…

– Fulfilling the desires of the flesh and the mind. BUT GOD!

– Were by nature the children of wrath and destined for eternal condemnation and punishment. BUT GOD!

You may currently look at yourself and feel your faith has become weak. BUT GOD!

No matter your present state and how worse things are, the answer has always been in Ephesians 2:4…

“BUT GOD, WHO IS RICH IN MERCY…”

It is not “but your hard work and strength”.

IT IS BUT GOD WHO IS IMMENSE IN MERCY.

The blind man, when he heard of Jesus passing by, cried out, saying, “Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me”. (Luke 18:38).

Precious one, it is not how high you always think your faith is. Maybe you may think you have not increased much in faith, so there is no hope for you. Cheer up!

JESUS IS MERCIFUL. Praise and thank Him for HIS SURE MERCIES on your life.
