DO YOU FEEL OVERWHELMED?

For when I was desperate, overwhelmed, and about to give up, you were the only one there to help. You gave me a way of escape from the hidden traps of my enemies.”
Psalm 142:3 (TPT)

A new month is here, and today marks the beginning of the last month in the year 2025 (in most parts of the world).

You might have started this day recounting the plans you had at the beginning of the year. And may feel there is more you could have done. You may also be appreciative of some success.

Whether you have seen great success or not, refuse to be overwhelmed.

These recent times, the phrase, “I feel overwhelmed or this thing is overwhelming” has become  one of the common phrases . However, no matter how you can justify your reason for feeling overwhelmed, that feeling exposes a state of mind.

To be overwhelmed simply means, you are not working with God. It means you have relied on your own strength.

“Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart. And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].” Proverbs 3:5-6 (Amplified Bible)

Though there may be obstacles and rough paths in your life journey, the Lord straightens, making your paths smooth and removed obstacles as you trust in Him.

It is not God’s desire that you will be overwhelmed by challenges and discomforting situations. He wants you to have His peace, in the midst of these challenging times.

To be overwhelmed means you have allowed your mind to be disarranged or cluttered by wrong thoughts of the adversary.

He makes you feel tired and accept weakness. Don’t white-wash the concept or idea of being overwhelmed. It is not normal, neither is of God.

To be overwhelmed doesn’t mean you are doing alot of things. It means you are fighting without God. It means you are doing things without God’s sufficient supply.

Mental fatigue, confusion and anxiety are not items in God. Paul said to the church in Philippi, “Be anxious for nothing…!” (Philippians 4:6)

He didn’t just instruct the saints not to be anxious, he gave them the solution and the outcome of the solution.

– Be anxious for nothing…

Solution: PRAY, supplication with thanksgiving.

The outcome: The PEACE of God shall garrison your heart.

God’s peace settles your mind to prevail, even when you are encircled by daunting tasks.

He wants to be your rest amidst the storm.

Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; *my peace I give you*. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid John 14:27 (NIV)

David made a profound statement about the Lord:

He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death I fear no evil, for You are with me…”

Each day of your life becomes onerous when you don’t focus on the Lord’s peace.

The more your mind settles on the vicissitudes, the more you feel overwhelmed, desperate and crushed.

Don’t allow your thoughts to obstructs or wreck  your mind.

You enjoy perfect peace when your mind stays on the Lord (Isaiah 26:). Love on and meditate on the goodnews of Jesus.

Lay your hands on your head and declare, my mind is anointed with the Lord’s goodness. Thoughts of grace saturate my mind. And I enjoy the help of the LORD.

Hallelujah

DIG DEEPER:
(Psalm 119:165; Colossians 3:15; 2 Thessalonians 3:16; Matthew 11:28-30; Psalm 18:6)

WE PRAY
We pray that our thoughts will serve the Lord and not become channels of wreck to our minds.

Very true no man is meant to walk in life alone. Every loner cannot go far in life because the journey of life is designed and is to be completed through a helping hand which is the hand of God. God stretches his hands through many avenues and people
Being overwhelmed is a definition of ignoring the stretched forth arm of God and taking on situations with your strength. It can kill you because it will wear you out but when God is involved you will smile at the storm because he is with you and will never forsake you
On your own you will get tired and achieve nothing
