HOW TO DEAL WITH DISAPPOINTMENT
“so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.”
2 Corinthians 2:11 (ESV)
As believers, we have been made victorious through Christ Jesus.
The scriptures referred to believers in Christ as “More than conquerors” (Romans 8:37). This means to have a decisive victory. The Greek word is “hupernikaō”, which also means to vanquish beyond.
Through His work on the cross Jesus, “stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority and marched them naked through the streets.” (Colossians 2:15).
When Jesus died, He did not become a prisoner but defeated all the cohorts of darkness and made them His prisoners.
This earned victory of Jesus was for our benefit. In Christ and through Christ we have triumphed over the evil one.
The adversary knows he has no power over you. Though he is a defeated foe and rendered powerless, he still has his deceptive methods and schemes or designs.
And as people of light, we are not to be ignorant of the designs of the devil.
The devil cannot have any victory over the believer in any close combat, because of the victory of Christ.
Thus he uses secrets and projectiles which seem harmless yet deadly, to attack and destroy the faith of the saints.
In today’s episode, I want to emphasize one of the deadly missiles within the devil’s schemes.
He uses this to shipwreck the faith of the brethren and to disrupt them from fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives.
Ignorance is the major challenge of most believers. And through this discussion, you shall receive light to continuously exercise your victory.
I write these things to keep you reminded of ways to enforce your victory and not become prey to the enemy.
Disappointments.
This seems harmless but can destroy the confidence of a believer. Most disappointments are basically high expectations not met.
The adversary takes advantage of this feeling of displeasure to steal and crush your joy.
By how God wires the believer’s faith through His Word, a believer shouldn’t give room for any form of disappointment.
By the knowledge of God’s word, a believer must never see disadvantage in any situation. Whether an expectation wasn’t fulfilled because of your mistake or failure or that of others, you must remain composed. Understand that, sadness is not of God.
No matter the worst situation that happens, there is a divine appointment which can be activated.
This is not just to motivate or stimulate your mind. This is the reality of God’s word. This is how you have to think.
And this doesn’t suggest you live to allow any wrong or evil thing to happen around you. This is to help you set your heart on the stability of the word.
When an unexpected situation happens around you, don’t allow its wind to move you. Stay strong on the word of God.
Always remember this:
“So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose” Romans 8:28 (TPT)
As a believer, you should have great expectations, but your confidence should be in the glorious plan of God for your life.
There are people who focus more on their expectations than how God is building them up.
When things don’t play out as you expect, refuse to be broken. Pay attention to what God is saying to you and set your heart on it.
Trust God’s training! Focus on God’s plan for your life and His goodness, then you will always live above disappointments.

I’ve passed conquering.
Cos I am a believer
In Christ and through Christ, I have triumphed over the evil one.

I refuse to be disappointed
