YOUR SEASON OF EXALTATION IS HERE

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

    1 Peter 5:6 – 7 (NKJV)

The adversary wants you to lose your confidence in God. He wants you to feel distressed or discouraged about how things have not gone in the direction you expected. And to think God is not caring and the promises of the scriptures are not true.

His goal is to force or push you to a level where you become angry with God.

He wants you to deny the reality of God’s kindness in your heart. He keeps reminding you of your failures and the negative experiences you’ve had, though you have been serving the Lord.

He keeps sowing thoughts of doubts or posing doubtful questions in your mind.

    For example:

“After you gave that amount to the Kingdom gospel, has your life become better?”

“You had hoped to see your dad or mum healed of that infirmity, what has happened?” “And you think the healing power of God is real?”

“Do you even think the Gospel message of Jesus is real?”

“Don’t you think these things are mere lies or fables?”

“Look at your family, your siblings; do you remember your friend who also lost their parents?”, “How about your uncle who served God but has lost everything?”
“Don’t you think the stories of the Bible are mere fiction?”

“You don’t need God to be better, take your own life into your own hands. And forget about this God”

Listen, when the adversary comes after your faith and exaltation, he tries to hit you hard at your weakest state. He will shamelessly and persistently inject more questions and thoughts to break you down.

Have you had questions like these also:

“Where was God when you failed your exams?” “Where was God when you got raped?” “Where was God when you were robbed?” “Where was God when you lost that money?” “Where was God when everyone left you?” “Where was God when you were abused, maltreated, cheated, scammed?” “Where was God when the lady or gentleman you loved left you or abandoned you?” etc

These questions are targeted by the adversary to establish enmity between you and God.

All of a sudden, you forget the goodness of God. You forget your testimonies, and you continue to brood over these thoughts of the devil.

You even begin to forget that the very air you breathe is a gift from God.

You suddenly become so arrogant and proud before the Lord.

Get this, such thoughts are attacks of the devil, to build strongholds of pride in your heart. Such thoughts are programmed by the adversary to make you doubt God’s help and to shipwreck your faith.

Such thoughts become stronger when you are close to your season of exaltation.

The adversary knows that the more you humble yourself before the Lord, the more you increase in faith to receive from the Lord.

He knows the more you submit to the power of the word of God, the stronger your expectation for your miracle and exaltation.

“Surely there is a future [and a reward], And your hope and expectation will not be cut off” Proverbs 23:18 (Amplified Bible).

He doesn’t want you to have any expectation or hope in the Lord. He makes you think you can’t predict or expect anything glorious.

    That is a lie!

Beloved, you have to maintain your expectation in God. Your season of exaltation is here. Don’t allow your past to distract you.

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward” Hebrews 10:35

A life lived by the word of God is predictable. When you live by the word, you can have expectations of glory.

There is nothing like uncertainty in the Word of God. This doesn’t mean you will not face opposition. You may face the worst of challenges. But the counsel of the Lord for your life shall stand.

Joseph, who was a promised child, was sold into slavery by his brothers, and he was taken to prison by his master Potipher (whose house prospered because of Joseph, Genesis 39:2-5). He chose to honour God, and he was imprisoned

    What?

    Where was God?

Listen, the Lord was with Joseph all through. Though those seasons were challenging times for Joseph, everything was playing out perfectly for him. The slave who became a prisoner rose to become the Prime Minister.

Beloved, don’t give up, refuse the doubts and remain humble before the Lord, for the season of your exaltation is here!

    Hallelujah!

Most at times it is not what is happening to you that matters, rather it is the VOICE you are hearing that matters. The voice you hear and respond to is what influences your life. Do you hear the voice of your fears, worry, pain and struggle or you hear the voice of the Lord? Selah.

BURN WITH ZEAL FOR GOD’S ASSIGNMENT

“For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.”

    Psalm 69:9 (KJV)

Beloved, your zeal defines the intensity with which you handle Kingdom responsibilities.

Your zeal towards God’s work is intensified when you train yourself to commune with the Lord and to immerse your emotions, will and mind in the Lord.

You cannot be effective in your service of the Kingdom without the zeal of the Lord.

“Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward Him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let Him fill you with excitement as you serve Him”. Romans 12:11 (TPT)

The level at which you are immersed in the zeal of the Lord will determine how you pursue the excellence of God’s will.

There is a way God wants His work to be done. When your heart is boiling with the passion to see Kingdom success, you cannot entertain complacency.

There are some who think they don’t have a burning passion or zeal for anything at all.

    That’s not really true.

Everyone has a zeal for something.
There is no one without zeal.

Some have a zeal towards someone they want to marry. Others have a zeal for drugs. Some have an unquenchable zeal towards the football club they support.

Some have zeal for the religious group they belong.

People can zealously kill for something.

    [pff-paystack id=”37534″]

Zeal is the boiling passion within a man’s heart. Zeal in itself doesn’t know what is right or wrong.

Zeal gravitates towards the interest or focus of your heart.

Paul persecuted the Church because of his assumed zeal for God and the Jewish traditions. He didn’t know he was using his zeal to persecute God’s people. (Philippians 3:6).

There are people who are zealous towards their family interests, academic interests, and the interests of their company and care little about the Kingdom of God.

Is it wrong to genuinely care for your family, academic, and company interests?

    Certainly not.

However, as one who is in the Kingdom, the interest of the Kingdom must come first.  Your zeal must gravitate towards the refulgence and spreading of the Kingdom.

What can you sacrifice for the Kingdom of God?

When your zeal burns towards the growth and excellence of the Kingdom, you will not be complacent in any way. You will not procrastinate, nor will you sit on the fence. You will take the initiative. The zeal of the Lord will drive you not only to have a sense of responsibility, but to take responsibility.

When the Jews had lost their sense of zeal towards the purpose of the temple, they allowed the temple to become a religious shopping mall instead of what it was meant to be.

“As he went into the temple courtyard, he noticed it was filled with merchants selling oxen, lambs, and doves for exorbitant prices, while others were overcharging as they exchanged currency behind their counters. So Jesus found some rope and made it into a whip. Then he drove out every one of them and their animals from the courtyard of the temple, and he kicked over their tables filled with money, scattering it everywhere! And he shouted at the merchants, “Get these things out of here! Don’t you dare make my Father’s house into a center for merchandise!” That’s when his disciples remembered the Scripture: “I am consumed with a fiery passion to keep your house pure!” John 2:14-17 (TPT).

The Jewish leaders didn’t care what was done with the temple. They were complacent in seeing to the fulfilment of the purpose of God. However, Jesus felt otherwise.

He couldn’t stand to watch the corruption of the purpose of the temple.

He had a burning passion for God’s house. He was ready to put His life on the line just to enforce the will of God.

Culture your heart to burn with zeal towards God’s assignment.

    You remain blessed.

    Selah.

You don’t have to entertain sorrow around you no matter the situation. You have to maintain your joy. It is your daily charge to keep. ARE YOU STRIVING FOR HUMAN APPLAUSE?

“For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.”

Galatians 1:10 (New American Standard Bible)

Have you ever felt unappreciated for your service?

Do you seem to be discouraged because people are not impressed by your sacrifice?

Are you afraid to take steps to do the things God has called you to do because you are careful not to displease the people around you?

Are you careful to preach the gospel because you don’t want to get people offended?

Though we are sons of God, we also have a duty to serve the eternal purpose of God’s Kingdom in our generation.

Our duty to serve the eternal purpose of God, is essentially a service to honor Him. As part of serving God’s eternal purpose, we also serve men or people. Your service to God brings honor to God and also blessing to people.

In a more practical way, every service to God benefits people. God doesn’t need your service for Himself, your service to God is to serve people. That makes your life and living a blessing of God to people.

When God calls a man and sends him as a missionary to a rural or an unreached community, the mission assignment will be a service which will benefit and transform the people within that community; and it will cause many to praise and honor God.

What this means is that the missionary’s life and living to the community he reached out to, is a blessing of God to the people. Such a person’s service to the people is a service to God.

The intention is not to please them and to get them to praise him. He must seek to please God by doing what God wants him to do.

And this is how greatness in the Kingdom is determined.

Just as Jesus said, “The greatest among you will be the one who always serves others from the heart” Matthew 23:11 (TPT)

Your service must be an act from your heart to please God and to cause people to honor Him. Your service must not be an attempt to strive to please people.

People will definitely be blessed, impressed, refreshed and inspired by your act of service. You will have people celebrating you for the impact you make in their lives through your service. However, your goal is not to win the applause of men. Your goal and intention have to be that you shall complete the assignment God has entrusted to you.

There is nothing wrong with being honored or appreciated for your service in the Church or the kingdom.

Paul the apostle in his epistle to the Church in Thessalonica instructed the brethren to honor their leaders.

“Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance” 1 Thessalonians 5:12 (NLT)

In as much as it is important to be honored and acknowledged for your service, never make that your goal.

Don’t strive for the appreciation of men. When that becomes your goal, you will end up striving to please men, instead of God. And that may affect the integrity of your service and cause you to compromise the instructions of the Lord.

People who always strive for the applause of men, end up feeling discouraged and discontented.

God has called you out that you show forth His praise and not for you to strive for the praise of men.

DON’T LIVE AS AN IMPERFECT VESSEL

“And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.”

    John 2:6-7 (KJV)

In the first chapter of John’s Gospel, he revealed Jesus as the one who has come to reveal the fullness of God.

He said, “No one has ever gazed upon the fullness of God’s splendor except the uniquely beloved Son,
who is cherished by the Father and held close to his heart. Now he has unfolded to us the full explanation of who God truly is!”
     John 1:18 (TPT)

Though it is said, that God spoke to Moses face to face or mouth to mouth, it was still in shadows. God was fully revealed in Christ.

The law was given through Moses, but Christ came as the embodiment of grace and truth. He came to show us God’s true person.

Jesus came to express the glory of the Father.

Now look at what happened when He turned water into wine.

“And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.” John 2:10 -11 (KJV).

The miracle of turning water into wine was to reveal His glory (which is the GLORY and REVELATION OF GOD).

Every miracle Jesus did was a sign to show us the Person of God.

Some are of the opinion that God doesn’t take an interest in everything that happens in our lives. But that is not the case. Jesus at the wedding ceremony reveals that God attends weddings.

In everything you do, don’t be shy to let God in. He is interested in your affairs.

The interest of God is not to just sit on His throne as the MIGHTY, ALL-POWERFUL GOD, who controls men and weighs their worship and sacrifices.

The interest of God is to love you, to be in you, live through you and be part of all you do.

You cannot explain the fullness of God through Moses.
In Moses, we see water turned into blood, but in Christ, water is turned into wine.

For water to be turned into blood points to death. However, Jesus showed us the essence of life, by turning water into wine. He came not to produce death. He came to produce life, gladness and eternal satisfaction.

The goodness of God was seen through Jesus.

The goodness of God always abound.

Mary came to Jesus saying, “There is no wine”.

Jesus made them fill the six waterpots to the brim.  Each water pot takes 30 gallons. Thus, Jesus produced 180 more gallons for the wedding. They had more than enough, because of Jesus.

I mentioned in the previous post that the number six is the number of Man and also the number of imperfection (seven is also the number of perfection).

Man was made on the sixth day (he will always have something to do with the number 6). And also man who was good became imperfect. This is not to force an interpretation to churn “deeper” revelation. This is a basic symbolism to help appreciate the poetic whispers of the scriptures.

The waterpots are also vessels which can be imperfect because they are breakable.

The best wine Jesus produced didn’t come out of golden vessels with extraordinary water.

Out of this imperfect religious jar came a new fine wine.

“We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within, so that the extraordinary overflow of power will be seen as God’s, not ours.” 2 Corinthians 4:7 (TPT)

Now, the waterpots were not for the main event. They were used by strict Jewish religious leaders for their religious cleansing as they got on to the main event (Read Mark 7:3-4).

Because of how these waterpots have been used for religious activities, they needed to be refilled with fresh water. And it was filled to the brim. Water is mainly used by John as the symbol of the Spirit-life (John 4, John 7).

For the Lord to bring a perfect wine out of your imperfection, He has to transfuse His overflowing life into you.

As a new creation in Christ, the Lord has filled you with His Spirit-Life. That is an eternal treasure in you.

There is a treasure of God in you. Stop judging yourself by the imperfections. Look inside.

Within you is God’s refreshing answer to the world.

Don’t live as an imperfect vessel. Live according to the treasure of the Spirit within you.

For out of you the Lord is brewing a perfect wine to satisfy the world.

    Hallelujah!
