You cannot say you have faith and be silent. Faith speaks! To act in faith is to act according to God’s word, and God is not silent. Even in His silence, there is a message. Do you believe what God says? Then you must speak forth His word with boldness.
    Apostle Bennie
    Author

All through time, man couldn’t fully have access to dwell and enjoy the Lord’s presence in its fullness.

So He decided to tabernacle among men so that He would assimilate as many as believe in Him, into Himself.

This is why God came to dwell among us through the WORD (who is Jesus the Word made flesh).

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” John 1:14.

To dwell among us means the Word made His HOME among us. It also means He TABERNACLED among us. This is for us to have access to the Lord.

“How greatly to be envied are those you have chosen to come and live with you within the holy tabernacle courts! What joys await us among all the good things there.” Psalm 65:4 (TLB)

Now we have access to the Lord’s presence or inner chamber through Christ Jesus.

    What a joy!

BELOVED, don’t permit anything to distract you from enjoying the glorious things in the Lord’s presence.

There is something special about following God’s plan. A cheerful prompt to do it giver has a genuine heart for God. IT IS BY THE STRENGTH OF GOD

“For they all were trying to make us afraid, saying, ‘Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done.’ Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands”

    Nehemiah 6:9 (NKJV)

One of the greatest causes of weakness in the pursuit of God’s purpose is FEAR.

The moment you become afraid that you will fail or will not be able to complete the task, you weaken yourself from doing what God wants you to do.

The more you exercise confidence that with God you shall do valiantly, the more you increase in strength.

When you consider the seemingly overwhelming pressure or the opposition you face or may face in the pursuit of purpose, you will stagger in faith.

There will be times you may not have support from your best friends or the people you trust. But that shouldn’t derail you.

Look at Paul’s (the apostle’s) testimony:

”At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.” 2 Timothy 4:16-17 (NKJV)

    Glory to God!!!

This is the certainty of our faith!!!

No matter the pressure or opposition, beloved, we turn to God.
It is by the strength of God that you will prevail, not your human strength nor intelligence.

When you turn away from the pressure and you turn to God, you increase in strength.

    Just as Nehemiah did:

“For they all were trying to make us afraid, saying, “Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done.” Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands” Nehemiah 6:9 (NKJV)

Nehemiah chose to pray to God for strength. That was all he needed to complete the work.

    Now look at what happened:

“So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of Elul, in fifty-two days. And it happened, when all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw these things, that they were very disheartened in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our God” Nehemiah 6:15-16 (NKJV)

When the strength of God is supplied to you, you can only have the God-kind of results.

    Increase in strength!!!

BE SATISFIED BY THE LORD JESUS HIMSELF

“Why would you strive for food that is perishable and not be passionate to seek the food of eternal life, which never spoils? I, the Son of Man, am ready to give you what matters most, for God the Father has destined me for this purpose.”

    John 6:27 (TPT)

Why do you attend Church meetings?
    Why are you a “Christian”?
Why do you follow the Lord?
Why do you serve the Lord?

There are many who once professed Jesus as their Lord and are no longer following the Lord.

Such people followed the Lord because of a miracle they wanted or a material possession.

This explains why people turn away from the Lord when they are uncomfortable.

The first-century believers suffered persecution, torture, and discomfort, yet they remain resolute in their walk with the Lord. They couldn’t deny their faith in Jesus and boldly proclaimed His goodnews. They testified to Jesus even in hostile situations.

    What was their secret?

These people found an unquenchable satisfaction in the Lord.

Though they knew the Lord Jesus heals, raises the dead, makes provision for their needs and preserves them from evil, their walk with the Lord was essentially built on His person.

Until you focus on the Lord as your inward satisfaction, you will be easily distracted when confronted by challenges.

After Jesus had multiplied bread to feed the multitudes, He departed from them. And yet they went looking for Him at Capernaum. After they found Jesus, He made a profound statement to them.

“When they finally found him, they asked him, “Teacher, how did you get here?”
Jesus replied, “ Let me make this very clear, you came looking for me because I fed you by a miracle, not because you believe in me. Why would you strive for food that is perishable and not be passionate to seek the food of eternal life, which never spoils? I, the Son of Man, am ready to give you what matters most, for God the Father has destined me for this purpose.”
    John 6:25-27 (TPT)

Jesus’ goal was to teach them to believe in Him and to focus on Him as their satisfaction. He didn’t want them to settle only for the miracles. The miracles Jesus gave them was a sign to them that He is their true satisfaction. Yet these people couldn’t take their eyes off the miracles.

They proved it over and over again that they would rather want the miracles and not a deeper relationship with Jesus. The Lord Jesus wanted them to believe in Him and enjoy Him as their eternal satisfaction. But they were looking for temporal enjoyment.

Let’s get into their dialogue after He said these things to them (this dialogue is taken from the Passion Translation):

“They replied, “So what should we do if we want to do God’s work?” verse 28.

The response of the multitudes was as though they were ready to receive the words of Jesus.

“Jesus answered, “The work you can do for God starts with believing in the One he has sent.” verse 29.

Jesus was still pointing them to Himself. But take note of their reply again:

“They replied, “Show us a miracle so we can see it, and then we’ll believe in you.” verse 30.

These people were still interested in the miracle than the miracle worker. Meanwhile, Jesus wants them to have Him, so that they shall become custodians of what He gives.

They even made reference to Moses as the one who fed their ancestors in the multitudes, therefore, Jesus should also show a sign. (See verse 31).

But if they truly wanted a sign before they would believe, didn’t they see a sign a day before, when Jesus multiplied bread to feed them? (See John 6:1-14).

In fact, “All the people were astounded as they saw with their own eyes the incredible miracle Jesus had performed! They began to say among themselves, “He really is the One—the true prophet we’ve been expecting!” John 6:14 (TPT)

The thing is this: no matter the miracles you receive, you shall never be completely satisfied. Your true satisfaction is not in the miracles.

Your true and complete satisfaction is in your relationship with the Lord Jesus.

When they ate the bread Jesus multiplied, they were satisfied (John 6:12). But that satisfaction was not the true satisfaction Jesus wanted to give them. The true satisfaction was Jesus Himself, who was giving them the bread.

Jesus told them, the bread which Moses gave the Israelites (their ancestors) was from His Father. Jesus explained further that the bread which was given to their ancestors was a dramatic sign, and now He is the bread from Heaven, to give His life to feed the world.

Look at their response once again:

“Then please, sir, give us this bread every day,” they replied.” (Verse 34).

This is exactly how most people (both Christians and non-Christians) are living their lives. They want what will satisfy their outward interests. They are not interested in enjoying the Lord as their satisfaction.

They look for their satisfaction in temporal things.

Jesus is more than the miracles, the opportunities, the material blessings, and the success stories.

    He is life.

He wants you to relate to Him beyond the physical or material blessings you enjoy in Him.

    He said:

“I am the Bread of Life. Come every day to me and you will never be hungry. Believe in me and you will never be thirsty” John 6:35 (TPT).

    What is your pursuit?

Are you striving for the perishable, or are you focused on the Lord, who is your true satisfaction?

    “SEEK YE FIRST”

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”

    Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

When you read the above verse of the Bible, what comes to mind?

Interestingly, some only see “and all these things shall be added”.

It is not God they seek first; it is the “all things which shall be added” they seek.
    Which is wrong!

The focus of Matthew 6:33 is God and not the other things. Make Him your focus and motive.

Don’t pretend to be serving God, yet deep within your motive of action is the desire for things to be added to you and not God and His Kingdom.

Another group of people have a different understanding of the phrase,

    “SEEK YE FIRST”.

To them, it means starting your life with God, so that when a time comes when you are too busy to be available for His Kingdom assignment, He will understand.

So at the beginning of their lives, they pursue God. You will find them in the Church, serving and participating in Kingdom activities. They are involved in personal prayers and Bible studies.

As they grow in business, grow in their finances, get married, start having children, etc, then they shift their attention to the family, business, etc.

Their sincere idea is that they now have to focus on what God has given them, because they have made the necessary contribution in God’s Kingdom or the Church.
That is ignorance or a misconception of our relationship with God.

Others also have a list of priorities. To them, God first means, “Make God number one”. Thus, on their priority list, they have:

    1. God (His Kingdom and Righteousness) first.
    2. Academics (if they are students)
    3. Family
    4. Work etc

    Others have also:

    1. God first
    2. Marriage/Spouse
    3. Family
    4. Work etc…

Whatever way they will outline their priority list, I want you to know that God doesn’t need to be there as Number One.

As a born-again, God has to be involved in every aspect of your life.
He is not merely part of your list, He is your life and essence, that is the reality.

For God to be the first, means He has to be the Chief of your life.

He must be the first in every aspect of your life.
This verse of scripture below should change your entire worldview:

“In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success” Proverbs 3:6 (TLB)

God must be the first in your ministry. People can do ministry for themselves and not for the Lord. He must be the first in your family and marriage. He must be the first in your academics, career or profession and work.

In everything you do, God has to be the center of it all. For God to be the first means He is the reason you do what you do.

Don’t just make Him Number 1 on your list.

Nothing comes before Him, and nothing comes after Him. He is the essence of all you do.

YOUR CUP WILL NEVER RUN DRY

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.”

    Psalm 23:5 (NKJV)

The anointing brings healing and comfort to your wounds. To be anointed is to be consecrated by God for His divine purposes and protection.

The anointing of the Lord upon you is a demonstration of how much He values and honours you.

The quality of oil your host pours on you reveals the degree of value he places on you.

Our Lord anointed you with His Spirit. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is the immeasurable quality of the Spirit dispensed into you.

The anointing is not only poured on you; it is also transfused into you as a divine quality.

This makes your life a rich, anointed life for the glory of the Lord.

I don’t know how you see yourself, precious one in Christ. However, from the day you believed in Jesus and received the Holy Spirit into you, you received a gushing fountain, which springs up as life. It is not only designed to nourish you, but to make you a fountain to nourish others.

Your cup is too small to contain all that the Lord has poured into you. And you know what?

He is not stopping, THE LORD KEEPS POURING MORE!

It is a gushing fountain overflowing into every aspect of your life, and to nourish the multitudes

    Glory to God!

The reality is that whatever the Lord serves you with, He serves it superabundantly. One may think it is wrong to say Our Lord serves. He is King, and we must serve Him. That is the irony here. Our Lord is not the King who demands service. He serves you, and any service you may render to Him, He does it with you. For without Him, you can do nothing. (John 15:5).

“For even the Son of Man did not come expecting to be served by everyone, but to serve everyone, and to give his life as the ransom price in exchange for the salvation of many.” Mark 10:45 (TPT).

The Lord serves you with His best.

Whatever He serves you with dispenses the life (which has an eternal value) into you. He gives water, and it becomes a gushing fountain of the Holy Spirit, springing up and flooding you with endless life!

The term or word “Cup” in Psalm 23:5 has been given several meanings. Considering the various figurative meanings of “Cup” throughout scriptures.

This word is used in scriptures both figuratively and literally. Literally, it is a usual cup (either of horn or some precious metal); it is used for drinking during meals or ceremonies. It is used during a family or a solemn, sacred meal.

At such sacramental meals, the head or father of the family pronounced certain blessings over the cup. That makes the cup a cup of blessing. Depending on the pronouncement made over the cup (These cups are mostly filled with wine). After tasting it, the head or father passes it around to the company and his whole family, who will also partake of it. (Just as it happened during the “Lord’s supper“).

All through the scriptures, you will find expressions such as:
The “cup of salvation” (Psalm 116:13), the “cup of consolation” (Jeremiah 16:7). There is also the cup of death, the cup of trembling, and the cup of wrath.

    These are figurative expressions.

In ancient East and even Egypt, there was also an art of divining by means of a cup (Genesis 44:2-17)

The concept of the cup in a figurative or metaphoric sense depicts an individual’s fate, destiny, and satisfaction with time and life.

    For example,
In Psalm 16, the Psalmist said,
“O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.” Psalm 16:5 (NKJV).

Read it in The Passion Translation:

“Lord, I have chosen you alone as my inheritance. You are my prize, my pleasure, and my portion. I leave my destiny and its timing in your hands.”

However, Psalm 23:5 emphasises an abundant life with an overflowing cup (portion of blessings and satisfaction). This is an overwhelming or mighty picturesque in an arid or semiarid topography.

From the above point, I want you to know that YOUR CUP, which runs over, is not merely an object you have in your hand.

    It is your LIFE.

The Psalmist said, “MY CUP“. This points to “HIS LIFE AND LIVING“.

The Lord doesn’t put an object or cup into your hand just for you to receive His precious wine. His LIFE becomes your LIFE (John 10:10; Colossians 3:4). And this LIFE is the CUP which overflows with HIS RICH ABUNDANT SUPPLY of His drink.

“Now on the last and most important day of the feast, Jesus stood and called out [in a loud voice], ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.” John 7:37-38 (Amplified Bible).

Beloved in Christ, let this reality settle deeply in you that your cup (your life and living, which is the life of God in you) will never run dry.

ENJOY THE OVERFLOWING, GRACIOUS BLESSINGS OF THE LORD.
