DO YOU HAVE A PERSONAL REVELATION?

“Look at the proud one, His soul is not right within him, But the righteous will live by his faith [in the true God].”

    Habakkuk 2:4 (Amplified)

The goal of the word of God is to make you fruitful in your walk with Him. This begins with the infusion of faith. Anytime God’s word comes to you, it produces faith in you.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17).
Faith is absolute confidence in God and what He says. It is the substance of reality that is beyond the optics.
When the word of God comes to you concerning a matter, it opens your heart to God’s revelation on that matter or situation. It reprograms your mind on how to deal with that matter or situation according to God’s wisdom. This is how faith works!

Four times in the Bible, you can see the phrase:
“The just shall live by faith” or “The righteous shall live by faith” (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11 and Hebrews 10:38;)

It is mentioned three times in the New Testament portion of the Bible and once in the Old Testament portion of the Bible.

The opening verse, Habakkuk 2:4, is the original or the first time that phrase was used.

What makes Habakkuk 2:4, unique is the expression, “…HIS FAITH“.

This focuses on how we appropriate or engage the revelation of Jesus in our personal lives. That is the subjective Faith.

The other three verses in the New Testament focus on the object of Faith (the revelation of Jesus).
Jesus is the object and substance of our confidence in God.
Which means Faith is Jesus and all that He has done for us. Jesus is the substance or embodiment of our confidence and assurance in God unto salvation.

Now to continue to live by faith and manifest the fullness of the life which you have in Christ, you must have a personal revelation of the Word of God.
To have a personal revelation of the word of God is not to have your personal interpretation of the word of God. (2 Peter 1:20)
The word of God (or every scripture) is prophetic and there is a complete interpretation of every scripture in the Bible. There are three methods the Word of God was given:

    1. The Word of God or the scriptures were given by revelation; which is from God to His holy men. (See Amos 3:7; Hebrews 1:1-2; Daniel 2:22,28; Galatians 1:11-12).

    2. And by inspiration these holy men wrote the scriptures. Which is from heart to “paper”. (See 2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16).

    3. The third method is illumination. This is from “Paper” to heart (See Psalm 119:18,130; Ephesians 1:18). This happens through the teaching and the study of the Word.

As all scripture is inspired by God, we should understand that we are not inspired to rewrite the scriptures. The dimension of inspiration we enjoy now involves how God has revealed spiritual truth to us through His word (which is already inspired by God).

It happens through accurate interpretation which is your study of spiritual truth, in God’s word. This is what it means to, “RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF GOD”. (2 Timothy 2:15).

It is by this you can handle the truth of the word of God for yourself.

All that God has said in His word is the revelation of His life and eternal counsel to mankind. Your revelation of God must be according to the word of God. For the Word of God to be useful to you, you need to know and own the Word. You must personalise it.
The knowledge of the word of God must not just be another increase in information but increased revelation.
Your faith is governed by your personal revelation.

To have a personal revelation is not to have a new revelation.

The revelation of the word of God in the scriptures is complete. Christ is the completeness of God’s revelation (Hebrews 1:1-2).
To have a personal revelation is to have an absolute and accurate understanding of what God has said through the scriptures.
It is to personally behold and capture the light or the reality of God through His Word. Personal revelation is the illumination of the word of God in your heart.

The illumination of the Word involves your understanding of spiritual truth which is in the Word, by the administration of the Holy Spirit (through a sound teacher of the Word, and Bible study materials).

This is what “The Machaira with Apostle Bennie” does to you. It makes you an illumined believer.
You are trained to personally recognize the truthfulness of what you read in the Bible and to apprehend its beauty.
Illumination of the scriptures enlightens you to recognize the authority and significance of what is said in the word, for your daily victories.

It means you are not merely living by what someone says he or she has found in the Scriptures. But you live by what you have personally seen and handled in the Scriptures. This makes your faith effective and you live the reality of your overcoming life.

“For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God]” 1 John 5:4 (Amplified)

When you have a personal revelation of the Word, you can have personal daily victories of faith.

    Hallelujah!

    HEARING GOD’S VOICE 16 –

How Do I Hear God’s Voice? 11 — MORE ON VISIONS, DREAMS AND TRANCES 2

“And he said, “Hear my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream. Not so with my servant Moses. He is faithful in all my house. With him I speak mouth to mouth, clearly, and not in riddles, and he beholds the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”

    Numbers 12:6-8 (ESV)

As we have previously discussed, considering the various means by which God speaks to His people, we noticed God still speaks to His people through dreams and visions.

Dreams and visions are not obsolete. They are still relevant but are useful to the believer only within the boundaries of the scriptures.

Visions, Dreams and Trances are not evil. These are means of prophetic communication.

God did speak to people in the scriptures through these methods and even in our day He still uses such to send prophetic messages.

There are times dreams, visions and trances are used interchangeably. But these have their unique meanings.

Dreams are projected images and imaginary transactions or deep thoughts which engage the soul and the mind of a person whiles asleep. They come in different forms. Dreams play out as simple direct messages or simple symbolic thoughts which are interpretative in themselves.

Joseph’s dreams where the sheaves, sun or moon bowed to him were simple Hebraic symbolic dreams. When he narrated the dreams to his family, they didn’t have to inquire of interpretation. The symbols in dream were well understood in their cultural sense (Genesis 37:5-10).

In the New Testament we see another dream by Joseph Mary’s husband. His dreams (Matthew 2:13-22) were also direct instructive messages which didn’t require any interpretation.

There is also the multiplex symbolic dreams. These dreams have complex features or elements which require a person with the wisdom to dissolve enigmas and hard sentences.

This is just as you can see in the book of Daniel; King Nebuchadnezzar had dreams which were complex (Daniel 2 and Daniel 4).
Such sophisticated multiplex dreams either troubles the heart or makes one restless in their sleep.

Mostly because of the unfamiliar meanings of the imagery or the manners by which it pricks the dreams emotions.

Daniel also had similar type of dream and had to seek for divine interpretation to understand the complexity of the dream (Daniel 7).

After communicating the dream, he said, “Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.” Daniel 7:28 (KJV).

The complexity of a dream is in it’s features and how to challenges your conceptions.

As I have mentioned earlier in this series (or in other episodes), God doesn’t primarily lead you through dreams. God speaks to you through His Word. Dreams and Visions are secondary mediums by which He communicates with us.

Understand that dreams are also projected by demonic forces. The dreams of God will always have substantial character of the knowledge and revelation of God. Demonic dreams will always contradict the revelation of the scriptures.

This means a believer in Christ must not build his life and confidence on dreams.

Sorcerers also dream. But what they don’t have is the truth of the Word of God.

“Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.” Zechariah 10:1-2 (KJV)

There are people who travel to see sorcerers who are also dreamers to predict their future.

But that is not the way of the saints in Christ. We search the scriptures. Don’t wait for a dream before you walk in the direction of the Lord. God speaks to you plainly in His scriptures.

“When people tell you, “Try out the fortunetellers. Consult the spiritualists. Why not tap into the spirit-world, get in touch with the dead?” Tell them, “No, we’re going to study the Scriptures.” People who try the other ways get nowhere—a dead end!” Isaiah 8:19-20 (Message Bible)

You may receive a word of the Lord through dreams. But judge every dream with the scriptures.

    LOOK INTO THE WORD

“And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.”

    2 Corinthians 3:18 (AMP)

Beloved, you are metamorphosed or transformed into (one degree of glory to another degree) of the image of the glory of the Lord as you meditate on the scriptures.

This explains the meaning of these scriptures to some degree:

“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” Proverbs 4:18 (KJV)

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” Psalm 119:105 (KJV).

The more you meditate or behold the glory of the Word of God, the more you shine forth brightly.

The Word of God is a mirror which brings you to the consciousness of who you are in Christ.

As a new creation in Christ, you didn’t receive the Life of Christ as you behold the Word of God. When you received Christ, you received His life.

“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:12-13 (KJV)

Now you can clearly see that, though you are born by the seed of the Word of God, the Word of God, as a mirror, does not introduce a new life into you.

The mirror principle of the Word of God is that:
As you look, you come to the true consciousness of who you are in Christ Jesus.

If you define yourself as a sinner or by any false image created by religion, you begin to experience the renewal of mind as you behold the glory of God in the Word.

As you are born of the Word, you can only see your true picture, your God-begotten self as you look into the Word.

    Listen;
A mirror doesn’t add nor change who you are or what you are.
A mirror brings you to the realization and consciousness of who you are.

Anytime you behold yourself in the mirror of the Word, it reveals your true essence and quality.

You can only live in the capacity of that revelation as you continue to be conscious of it through meditation.

James the apostle, explains how the mirror principle works:
    James 1:21-25 (TPT)

“So this is why we abandon everything morally impure and all forms of wicked conduct. Instead, with a sensitive spirit we absorb God’s Word, which has been implanted within our nature, for the Word of Life has power to continually deliver us.” James 1:21 (TPT)

Now you can see that, verse 21 reveals that though one with a sensitive spirit absorbs the Word of God, the Word of God has already been implanted to our new nature in Christ.

And it has continuous work to deliver by its power.
In some other translations, it uses the phrase, which is able to save your souls”.

This could mean the saving of one’s soul through the new birth experience and the saving of your soul (will, mind, emotions) from the affections of the world, through the renewal of the mind.

He then brings the mirror principle of the Word to light in these subsequent verses:

“Don’t just listen to the Word of Truth and not respond to it, for that is the essence of self-deception. So always let his Word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life! If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your divine origin. But those who set their gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty are fascinated by and respond to the truth they hear and are strengthened by it—they experience God’s blessing in all that they do!” James 1:22-25 (TPT).

    • Not responding to the Word is a self-deception, because it is the unfolding of your originality.

    • Let the word be like poetry written and fulfilled by your life. It means your life has to be the reflection and expression of the Word.

    • As you hear the Word, live out the message. Keep it in your heart, and meditate on it until it soaks your consciousness.

    • When you look into the mirror of the Word you will discover the reflection of your face, you will have the right perception of how God sees you and your divine origin.

    • You will not forget it when you set your gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty (which is the revelation of Jesus in the Word).

    • The consciousness of the word produces fresh strength in you as an unshakable edifice and causes you to experience God’s blessing in all that you do!

Look into the Word daily to see your true-self and enjoy your true inheritance in Christ.

    HEARING GOD’S VOICE 11 –

How Do I Hear God’s Voice? 6 — THE SCRIPTURES ARE GOD’S SPEAKING

“Thy words were found, and I did eat them, and thy word was to me a joy and gladness of my heart: for thy name is called upon me, O Lord God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16 (Douay-Rheims Bible)

Sometimes, you may be in a situation and seem unable to figure out how to get out. You must get to the Word. God has given us the full revelation of Himself through His word. The Bible articulates the entire counsel of God’s wisdom.

There is no single matter in the universe for which God has not provided its key.

Anyone who diligently searches scriptures will find a wealth of wisdom to exercise dominion in this present world. The knowledge and understanding of the scriptures give you clarity on matters and give you an edge to declare the end of a matter from the beginning.

The scriptures ultimately make you wise unto salvation.

Paul the apostle said to Timothy: “and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:15 (KJV)

We also see Jesus pointing out this to his disciples.
After Jesus’s resurrection, some of the disciples were confused or had contemplation of doubt.

“Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. Luke 24:25-27 (NKJV)

This means that if these disciples had paid attention to what was in the scriptures, they wouldn’t have been confused.

The things which these disciples were discussing and the questions they were asking had the answers clearly written in the scriptures many centuries ago.

God has a word for you in the scriptures. God has an answer to your questions in His word. The scriptures are the recording of God’s voice.

God looked into all eternity, analyzed several life situations and the things which shall happen and how things shall work at every given timeline (even unto timeless season), and made a voice recording to give complete answers and explanations to all these life phenomena.

The Bible is the tape which contains God’s recording!

Read the Bible to hear God’s voice play out to you, addressing all your questions and dispensing God’s unsearchable rich wisdom into you.

    HEARING GOD’S VOICE 10 –

    How Do I Hear God’s Voice? 5

“I will hear what God the LORD will speak, For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly”

    Psalm 85:8 (NKJV)

The Bible is God’s active voice to you.

Nothing God will speak to you contradicts the reality of His Word.

The Word of God which is the Bible is the constitution of God’s wisdom. It gives you practical God-centered answers for every life situation.

When you begin to argue that God’s word (the Bible) is not relevant to you today, you will start missing out on God’s refreshing word for you.

This is the difference you must know.

There are two main Greek words for “The WORD of God”:

    1. Logos
    2. Rhema

Logos refers to the person of the Word; Jesus the living Word (John 1:1) and also the aggregate inspired word or thoughts of God (2 Timothy 3:16).
Logos means the expression of thoughts in speech or written form. This means the Bible as the Word of God is also the Logos of God. It is the expression of divine thoughts.

Whereas “Rhema” is that definite, specific and accurate word of God to you in the now. It is the present Word of God which germinates and burns in your heart.

You can find an example of this in Jeremiah 15:16, precisely the King James Version or New King James Version and Douay-Rheims Bible:

Thy words were found, and I did eat them, and thy word was to me a joy and gladness of my heart: for thy name is called upon me, O Lord God of hosts.”

Though the Hebrew word used in the verse for “word” is the same as what was used for “words”, they provide different implications.

To have access to the scriptures or the words of the Bible is to have access to the Word of God.

However, in the scriptures, there is a specific word which comes to you as God’s voice to address a specific situation.

So for example a young lady is struggling with rejection and feels lonely and all alone in this world because she has nobody to care about her and is also forsaken by her parents. She spends time praying to God about her situation and after the prayer, she feels invigorated but has not clearly heard a voice. But suddenly she has the urge to read her Bible, and turns to Psalm 27 and finds verses 1 and 10:

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
…When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.”
     Psalms 27:1,10 (KJV)

Will you say the verse wouldn’t be relevant to her situation?

Don’t you think it’s a personal word for her situation?

Now when she has already come across these verses (by diligently reading her Bible) and they are deeply rooted in her heart through meditation, the Holy Spirit will bring those scriptures up in her heart as an affirmation of God’s voice in the midst of her discouraged state. And that immediately quickens her with new hope and joy.

Are you struggling with fear, depression, infirmities of the body, condemnation or guilt?

Are you having a task at hand and have lost confidence?

Do you think you are incapable or even feel lazy?

God has a word for you. God is speaking in the scriptures. Get to the word and receive your rhema.

    As the Psalmist said:

I will hear what God the LORD will speak, For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly” Psalm 85:8 (NKJV)

Any word of the Lord to you through His scriptures will produce peace in your heart and not confusion.

To neglect and not read the Bible, is to neglect God’s primary means of speaking to you about your situation.

Beloved, go for the word of God.

    Hallelujah!
