Your faith is governed by your personal revelation. When you have a personal revelation of the Word, you can have personal daily victories of faith. Selah.
    Apostle Bennie
    Author
Again, it doesn’t mean God afflicts people with sickness and diseases to show His glory, but rather, when the adversary strikes people with any infirmities, because of God’s healing power, many see God’s glory and give praise to Him.

Now, Mary and Martha were to hold on to that message and allow it to define their composure.

Nevertheless, Martha, for example, argued and doubted the decision of Jesus to roll away Lazarus’ tomb.
Look at this, John 11:38-40 (TPT):
”Then Jesus, with intense emotions, came to the tomb—a cave with a stone placed over its entrance. Jesus told them, “Roll away the stone.” Then Martha said, “But Lord, it’s been four days since he died—by now his body is already decomposing!” Jesus looked at her and said, “Didn’t I tell you that if you will believe in me, you will see God unveil his power?”

I believe Jesus had to look at her with astonishment, because before this time, He had said a lot to Martha and Mary about being the resurrection and the life. Martha was not holding on to the Words of Jesus.
Until you hold on to the Word of God, you will not demonstrate absolute confidence in God.
“So they rolled away the heavy stone. Jesus gazed into heaven and said, “Father, thank you that you have heard my prayer, for you listen to every word I speak. Now, so that these who stand here with me will believe that you have sent me to the earth as your messenger, I will use the power you have given me.” Then with a loud voice Jesus shouted with authority: “Lazarus! Come out of the tomb!” Then in front of everyone, Lazarus, who had died four days earlier, slowly hobbled out—he still had grave clothes tightly wrapped around his hands and feet and covering his face! Jesus said to them, “Unwrap him and let him loose.” From that day forward many of those who had come to visit Mary believed in him, for they had seen with their own eyes this amazing miracle! John 11:41-45 (TPT).

    Oh Hallelujah.

Beloved, the word of the Lord is true and absolute.
Don’t look at the challenges to doubt God.
Make the Word of the Lord your focus, and you will see the manifestation of His glory.

    VALUE THE WORD OF GOD

“For whoever has [spiritual wisdom because he is receptive to God’s word], to him more will be given, and he will be richly and abundantly supplied; but whoever does not have [spiritual wisdom because he has devalued God’s word], even what he has will be taken away from him.”

    Matthew 13:12 (Amplified Bible)

You cannot enjoy divine intervention without the word of God.

The word of God is given to us as our advantage.

You cannot enjoy your inheritance in the Lord without the knowledge of the word.

The word of God contains all that the Lord has accomplished for you.

Not to commit yourself to the word is to expose yourself to deception and error.

“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” Psalm 119:195 (NLT)

With the word, you cannot miss your way through the journey of life.

The word of God works; however, it profits those who value it.

Anyone who doesn’t value the word of God doesn’t value his or her life.

When you pray to God for help, the first thing He will send you is His word. So as you are devaluing the word of the Lord, you are turning away from your help.

To value the word is to listen and take heed of the word with an open, teachable heart.

To value the word is to esteem the word of God as life. This means that the word becomes your priority and the driving force of your decisions or choices.

When you stand and act by the word, you can make a greater harvest no matter the challenge which confronts you.

Anyone who doesn’t place value on the word will not make it a priority to understand and grasp the word. When you don’t understand the word, you will not have a strong grip on it; thus, the evil one comes and snatches it away.

When you value the word, you will make it your meditation and get the word deeply rooted in your heart.

Until the word is deeply rooted in your heart, the pressure or persecution will cause you to stumble and fall.

When you value the word, it will be so fruitful that the worries and distractions of the world and the deceitfulness [the superficial pleasures and delight] of riches cannot choke it or stop it from yielding fruits.

Do you value or devalue the word?

Your response must be according to the measure of your heart.

Your response determines how the word will profit you.

    Selah.

TAKE THE WORD AS IT IS

“Jesus looked at her and said, “Didn’t I tell you that if you will believe in me, you will see God unveil his power?”

    John 11:40 (TPT)

Until you learn to esteem God’s Word in your life, your focus towards God may be impaired.

There are times, because you may feel disappointed that God didn’t do things as you expected, you begin to doubt His word.

God always has a bigger picture for your life; therefore, you don’t put Him in a box or set boundaries for Him.

No challenge should be big enough to move you away from God. No challenge should be big enough to make you doubt God.

From the beginning of John 11, we can see that Jesus received a message concerning Lazarus’ health condition. And knowing how Jesus loved Mary, Martha and Lazarus, they were expecting a different response from Jesus than what happened.

“One day Lazarus became very sick to the point of death. So his sisters sent a message to Jesus, “Lord, our brother Lazarus, the one you love, is very sick. Please come!”
When he heard this, he said, “This sickness will not end in death for Lazarus, but will bring glory and praise to God. This will reveal the greatness of the Son of God by what takes place.” Now even though Jesus loved Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, he remained where he was for two more days. Finally, on the third day, he said to his disciples, “Come. It’s time to go to Bethany”. John 11:2-7 (TPT).

Now, when Jesus arrived, His friend Lazarus had been dead and buried for four days.
Now, clearly, Mary and Martha were disappointed that Jesus didn’t come early. And they all expressed their disappointment uniquely.

But let me draw your attention to a similar situation.
The story of the Roman Centurion, he had a servant who was sick and requested Jesus to speak a word instead of visiting him. (See Matthew 8:5-13).
Mary and Martha could have demonstrated similar faith to see their brother healed. Well, they were disappointed instead, and we see Martha responding wrongly to Jesus.

Don’t allow your experiences (which may also include your disappointments), assumptions, and limited knowledge, define your response to God’s word.

To exercise absolute confidence in God’s Word, take God’s Word as it is. Don’t read your preconceived motive into His word.
Martha went to meet Jesus when He was approaching their village:

Martha said to Jesus, “My Lord, if only you had come sooner, my brother wouldn’t have died. But I know that if you were to ask God for anything, he would do it for you.” Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise and live.” She replied, “Yes, I know he will rise with everyone else on resurrection day.” John 11:21-24 (TPT).

Martha believed in Jesus at the level of what she had experienced, not according to the Word of the Lord.
She has seen and heard that Jesus healed the sick. However, she didn’t know Jesus as the resurrection and the life.
When Jesus said, your brother shall rise, she responded with head knowledge:

“Yes, I know he will rise with everyone else on resurrection day.”.

However, to walk in absolute confidence in God’s word, you must respond to God with your heart.

This was why even after Jesus had explained that He is the resurrection and the life, Martha had to make an argument about the decomposition of Lazarus’ body.

She was still responding to Jesus according to her head knowledge. Faith is responding to God according to His word and not by how you feel.

Stand and act consistently according to the WORD and not your mere experience.

    Selah.

It is great to have a personal experience of Christ. Nevertheless, this experience must be grounded on sound doctrine.

No one becomes born again, and automatically, has sound doctrine without being part of the community of Christ, where the word of God (goodnews) is rightly divided.

In the book of Acts, after Peter and the apostles had preached, all those who got saved were added to the Church.

For which purpose, they were to be taught the true revelation of Jesus (goodnews) and be built in the new and living way.

“Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:41-42 (NKJV).

What is the apostles’ doctrine (teaching)?

The focus of the message or teachings of the apostles was the revelation of Jesus and the expression of His life.

You don’t understand the scriptures alone.

As you have personal study, you also submit yourself to be taught in a Christ-centred church community.

This is how you begin to grow in the knowledge of Christ.

So we are charged through the scriptures, esteem them who labour in teaching you the word (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13).

Beloved, you cannot fully grasp and experience the goodnews of Jesus without a sound teacher of the word.

    DON’T FORGET

“Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.”

    Proverbs 4:5 (NKJV)

God does nothing without His word.
He created the Heavens and the earth by His word. (Genesis 1:3).

Even the worlds were framed by His Word (Hebrews 11:3).

He spoke forth the promise of Salvation through the seed of the woman.

Salvation came to mankind through the Word. The Word became flesh so He could complete and fulfil God’s Salvation plan. (John 1:1,14, 29).

Even the new birth of incorruptibility is by the word of God (1 Peter 1:23)

God’s word is powerful (Hebrews 4:12), and it is the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24).

The word of God has the ability to quicken your soul (Psalm 119:25,50)

The Word of God doesn’t fail.

“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
    Isaiah 55:10-11 (KJV)

    You will find these three things;

    1. God’s word is fruit-bearing.
    2. God’s word accomplishes God’s pleasure.
    3. God’s word prospers.

Every word of God concerning you shall not fail, just as the prophetic word of our Lord Jesus did not fail. Peter the apostle said, “We have a more sure word of prophecy” (2 Peter 1:19).

You have a responsibility to know the sure word of prophecy and to continuously walk in the remembrance of the word.

The reality is this: whatever God has said about you will bear fruit.

You don’t have to forget. You don’t have to let it slip out of your mind or heart. Stay glued to the word. The more you set your heart on it through meditation, the more you become courageous and increase in faith for the manifestation of the Word.

The adversary knows that when you forget, you will not be able to experience or enjoy the prosperity of the Word. He labours to get your heart distracted from what God has said, so that you will walk in faithlessness.

Your greatest disadvantage has always been how you become forgetful of what God has said.

Don’t allow failures, mammon, self-gratification, challenges, or negative situations to make you forget or doubt the word of the Lord.

What is the word you have received?

Know that the word of God which you have received shall prosper, be accomplished and produce fruits.

    Therefore, don’t forget!

If only you would not forget, you would see the manifestation of the word.

Put yourself into remembrance every day.

There’s blessing in not forgetting the word of the Lord.

    TRUST THE LORD

“But the Lord said to Moses, “Don’t limit my power! You will see that I can do what I say I can do.”

    Numbers 11:23 (ERV)

The limitation of your mind is determined by your understanding or exposure. Your imagination cannot be expanded beyond what you see.

You can conceive the unimaginable in your mind according to the insights you have had.

For example, the car toys of yesterday are now on today’s streets and some are in the showrooms to be sold.

The first car which was designed, contributed to the imagination of the designer of today’s Rolls-Royce. The examples of yesterday are for our learning today.

This is what the Bible does for your faith. The stories you read in the scriptures are not mere historical accounts. They are to expose your heart to things you have not imagined and to dispense faith into you.

It is to your own disadvantage when you don’t read and study the Bible. The things written in the scriptures are for your learning.

“For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.” Romans 15:4 (Amplified Bible)

You cannot access the riches of God’s wisdom when you don’t give yourself to personal Bible study.

The absence of personal Bible study will make you live by fantasies.

The faith of some people doesn’t yield results because they are not built on the understanding of God through His word. They build their faith on fantasies and assumptions.

The reading and studying of the word of God brings you into proper understanding. When you study the word of God, you will not only find examples of faith but will have a proper contextual and background understanding of how that example of faith was exuded.

The study of the word gives you a personal grasp of the thoughts of God. This is why through the Machaira With Apostle Bennie, you are given DIG DEEPER scriptures and also a ONE-YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN.

No matter how you can imagine a technology, you must as well understand the physics to make it work.

The study of the word of God doesn’t only expose you to what God can do but how to position yourself to rightly experience the effectual workings of God through His word.

When you don’t know God through His word, you may easily doubt Him and His word. God does nothing outside His word.

When you take God’s word and act on it, you partner with God in faith to see the manifestation of His word in your life.

The manifestation of God’s word in your life is according to your faith in Him. Your faith in God is your partnership and agreement with the Word.

All those who limited God’s power did not partner with God in faith. They did not exercise confidence in God. Your partnership with God is a partnership unto unlimited living.

You must stand strong in agreement with God that His word is true and will not fail, no matter the challenge.

Daniel the Prophet, found himself in a situation where he should be broken, discouraged and afraid. But he chose to remain confident in God. He chose to stand in partnership with God’s word; that the Lord is his protection and defence.

He was accused of breaking a law and was thrown into a lions’ den. The king’s confidence was that the God of Daniel would bring deliverance to Daniel (see Daniel 6:16-22).

However, the last sentence in verse 23 (of Daniel chapter 6) caught my attention:

“Then the king was exceedingly glad and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him because he had trusted in his God“

    Did you see that?

Daniel the Prophet was not delivered because the king sent soldiers to defend him. No kind of harm was found on him because HE HAD TRUSTED IN HIS GOD.
That trust in God was Prophet Daniel’s secret.

The moment you stop trusting the Lord, you limit the supply of His power. And there is no expiration for your trust in God. You must trust the Lord at all times, in all things and irrespective of the situation.

No matter how little or how big the matter is, trust the Lord.

The Lord will always deliver, protect, defend, preserve, provide, and prosper you.

    Hallelujah!
