TAKE YOUR PLACE AND BE A BLESSING

“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”

    1 Corinthians 12:28 (KJV)

The Church which is the body of Christ, is the agency or the conduit established by God to fulfill His mandate or agenda.

The building of the Church is essentially the work of our Lord Jesus.

However, for the Lord to build His Church (which is His body), He has to set functional members into the body. There is no well-built and healthy body without effective and healthy members.

When you look at the human body, it has many parts, which are members that make the body function effectively according to God’s design.

Imagine a body without hands, or legs, lungs, kidneys, and heart. The body will not be a healthy one.

God set or placed each of the various body parts to make the body function effectively.

Each member or part of the body has a unique duty. And God dexterously designed it to be so.

“For the body does not consist of one limb or organ but of many. If the foot should say, Because I am not the hand, I do not belong to the body, would it be therefore not [a part] of the body? If the ear should say, Because I am not the eye, I do not belong to the body, would it be therefore not [a part] of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where [would be the sense of] hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where [would be the sense of] smell? But as it is, God has placed and arranged the limbs and organs in the body, each [particular one] of them, just as He wished and saw fit and with the best adaptation. But if [the whole] were all a single organ, where would the body be?” 1 Corinthians 12:14-19 (AMPC)

Beloved, the Body of Christ (the Church) is as well designed to function just as the human body is. The Body of Christ (the Church) has many parts or members. These members have unique functions in the body according to God’s design, desire, and purpose.

When you became born again, God set you in the body of Christ as a member with a unique function.

You have a special assignment in the body of Christ; take your place and be a blessing.

    Shalom.

He has set you in the Church for you to be a HELPER OF THE WAR.

Just as certain men came to David to Ziklag, and they were among the mighty men, helpers in the war. These helpers of the war were they who fought side by side with David.

Beloved, God has set you in the local Church or Ministry Assembly for you to labour side by side with your Pastor or Setman to spread the gospel of Jesus.

This is the time to take many hearts for Jesus. You must finance the gospel to villages, cities, schools, institutions and nations.

You must be a helper of the War. The Lord has put desires in your heart for greater works. Don’t relent nor sit back.

    Do something now!

    Be a HELPER OF THE WAR through;

    – Your radical giving of your resources or financial partnership.

    – Your involvement in evangelism and soul-winning.

    – Your service in the local Church.

When you are not helping in this war, you are making things worse.

BE A HELPER of the War today.

Whenever you esteem your opinions above the wisdom of God’s word, know that pride has taken root in your heart. The adversary sets you up for failure and disgrace through pride. Beloved, intentionally deal with pride.

Whatever gift or ability God has given you is for the benefit of the Body of Christ, through the assembly He has placed you.

You don’t have to think you are in the Church by mistake. He placed you in a unique assembly for the growth of the entire body. You are positioned in that specific place in the Body for you to be useful as God has intended.

There is a reason God did not place the toes on the shoulders. How will the toes on the shoulder be useful to the body?

God placed each unique part of the body at its right place for effective use and relevance.

God has set you up in your “Local Church” or within a unique “Ministry Assembly” for your effective function.

All that God has made you and given you are for His use within the Church.

There are some whom God has made to be apostles, prophets, or teachers in the Church. Others are also set up by the Lord to be helpers, administrators, and a gift of healings.

These are expressions of grace and must be for the glory of God.

“For everything comes from God and exists by His power and is intended for his glory…” Romans 11:36 (NLT).

The whole body depends on that gift or grace given to you to function effectively.

Don’t complain and be tired of the needs which gravitate towards you. You are set up in the body at such a time to be an answer to those needs.

It is by God’s design that you always have the desire to HELP. You are an answer to the financial needs of the Church. Keep giving!

Your special grace for administration is to create an organised system for the growth of the Church. Be diligent with it.

God did not set everyone in the Church to be an apostle or prophet or special teacher (though everyone must teach, every teacher needs one with a special teaching grace).

You are in the body of Christ at such a time as this, to serve through your “local Church” or “Ministry Assembly“. Your various service or unique functions contributes to the growth and expansion of the Kingdom of God.

Don’t get tired or stop. You are at the right place at the right time.

Use all that God has given you for His glory.

MAKE MINISTRY SMOOTH FOR YOUR MAN OF GOD

“Then God who cheers those who are discouraged refreshed us by the arrival of Titus.”

    2 Corinthians 7:6 (TLB)

Some people don’t make it their priority to be a blessing. And don’t even think they have to make it their priority to support their Leaders or Pastors (Shepherds) in the Church.

Some people are dedicated and committed to their “bosses” or employers and even their office supervisors because they esteem their job.
Our participation in the Church will bring us to the fulfillment of God’s eternal purpose.
Your Kingdom relevance is first measured by your relevance in your Local Church.

The Holy Spirit will first share the burden of God’s vision and assignment for your Local Church with your Pastor or Shepherd. In the same way, when the adversary wants to attack the vision of the ministry, he will first attack your Pastor or Shepherd.

If there should be any discouragement, pain, burden, attacks, persecutions, and threats, your Pastor is the first to take the shots.
Leading and raising the saints could be burdensome.
There are a lot of Pastors who are daily overwhelmed by the task of pastoral care.

While some members refuse to be consistent in adhering to instructions and practising the word, others are busily seeking their own interests. Some are also holding grudges and creating conflicts within the Church through lies.

Pastors don’t only deal with the spiritual and numerical growth of the Church. They are also dealing with external confrontations and distractions. Handling every single individual member of the Church with their challenges and also ensuring each of them experiences their victories in Christ.

These things don’t just happen weekly or monthly. These are things he is bearing up with every day.
What is your role in all these?
Are you the one who makes ministry easy? Or you are the one who adds to the “pressure”. This is not to say you don’t have to share challenges with your shepherd.
However, what difference are you making in your Pastor’s life?

Are you the reason he is encouraged and joyful, or are you the reason he has more load of tasks?

Or are you making his efforts and labour worthless?

Are his visitations, counselling, and prayers for you becoming a waste?

He invests all this time and effort, and then you just decide to leave the ministry, not for any divine reason?

    BE LIKE TITUS!

“For even when we arrived in Macedonia our bodies had no rest, but we were oppressed at every turn—conflicts and disputes without, fears and dread within. But God, who comforts and encourages the depressed and the disquieted, comforted us by the arrival of Titus.” 2 Corinthians 7:5-6 (TLB)
Your presence and participation in the Church should be an encouragement to your Pastor.
You have to decide to be a burden bearer and a supply of the Lord’s encouragement to your setman.

Choose to make ministry smooth for your Man of God.

Talking about the Church, I am not speaking of your denomination. I am speaking of the community of Christ, the corporate body of all the saints who stand and walk in the sound doctrine and unadulterated gospel of our Lord Jesus.

I am not talking about denominations where the gospel of our Lord Jesus is peddled and don’t esteem sound doctrine.

Go for what the Word of God says, and enjoy the revelation of Jesus.

Don’t give your mind to empty traditions and human philosophies, which end up in endless arguments.

“My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you’ve been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving. Watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double-talk. They want to drag you off into endless arguments that never amount to anything. They spread their ideas through the empty traditions of human beings and the empty superstitions of spirit beings. But that’s not the way of Christ. Everything of God gets expressed in him, so you can see and hear him clearly. You don’t need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything.” Colossians 2:6-9 (Message Bible)

The fullness of Christ is revealed through His Body, which is the Church.

The Church remains the only Bastion of Truth in this world; therefore, let nothing move you away from the Church!

NOW COMFORT AND EDIFY ONE ANOTHER WITH THIS 2

“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”

    1 Thessalonians 5:11 (KJV)

The news of the coming of Jesus has always been news of encouragement and comfort to the Church.

In this same first epistle to the Thessalonians, Paul the apostle used the news of the coming of Jesus as comfort to those whose loved ones had fallen asleep (or died in Christ).

Those who die without Christ have no hope. And this is not the same with the believers. For those who fall asleep in Christ have hope. Therefore, as believers, we don’t become sorrowful as the people are without hope. We comfort one another with this glorious news of the coming of Jesus. (See 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

The ultimate good news of the coming of Jesus is that all believers shall be together with the Lord in a more palpable and experiential way.

The continuous reminder of the coming of the Lord must be comfort to the believers, knowing that we have far greater moments of glorious manifestations of the divine life ahead.

The coming of our Lord is the news that we shall live forever, both those who are alive and those who are asleep in the Lord.

The right testimony and understanding of the blessedness of the coming of our Lord Jesus comforts and edifies the believer.

This comfort and edification are necessary because they strengthen the faith of the believer.

More than ever, believers in today’s world need to have clarity of the testimony of the coming of Jesus. Amidst the increase in deception, spiritual, physical, and psychological attacks against the faith, believers must set their hope not only in the news of the resurrection of Jesus. Believers must be comforted that, as we were made alive and raised together with Christ, even so shall we live together with Him in all eternity.

    This is our hope!

    And this is our comfort.

In 1 Thessalonians 5, you will find two Greek words translated as comfort.

    – “Parakaleō”
    and
    – “Paramutheomai”

In verse 11, Paul the apostle chose the Greek word “Parakaleō”.
Parakaleō (translated as comfort) means more than to soothe.

It’s made up of two words, “Kaleō” (to call) and “Para” (side of or alongside).
The word literally means to call alongside or to call or summon a person to your side.

The meanings of “parakaleo” include to entreat, to appeal to, to summon, to comfort, to exhort, or to encourage. It means to urge someone to take an action. At the root of this word, conveys the idea of enabling a person to meet some difficult situation with gallantry and confidence.

When Paul the apostle chose this word, in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, he didn’t mean to say as believers, we should soothe one another on the grounds of what the Lord has accomplished.

He was charging the believers to urge one another to act according to the glorious hope of what our Lord Jesus has accomplished and the glorious news of the great day of His coming.

We are to march on through the storms of this world with great confidence of hope. The same word translated as comfort was also translated as “beseech” in Romans 12:1 (King James Version).

Which means to comfort one another is also to beseech one another to take a strong stand in the hope of the coming of our Lord Jesus.

The knowledge of the coming of our Lord Jesus supplies an impenetrable strength as that of a great army to a believer.

These things we have been discussing make you unwavering in your journey of faith. Set your heart on them.

Jesus is coming again, and be comforted (urged) as you continuously shine forth the light of the glory of our Lord Jesus in your sphere.

To believe and walk with the Lord is not an empty fable.

To believe and give attention to fulfill the ministry the Lord has entrusted to you is not shadow boxing. This is the manifestation of your destiny; remain resolute.

    Hallelujah!
