“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (KJV).

We have been given the mandate and the message to reconcile many unto God.

It doesn’t matter your profession or social responsibility, you have a kingdom mandate to turn many unto righteousness.

This is the role of the wise in the Kingdom (Proverbs 11:30).

God desires that all men may be saved and come to the knowledge of Christ ( 1 Timothy 2:4).

You are the light of the world, let your light shine; get many saved unto the glory of God.

Are you an eternal shining star in the Kingdom?

How are you involved in turning many unto righteousness?

    GO ALL OUT FOR JESUS

“Master,” said David, “don’t give up hope. I’m ready to go and fight this Philistine.”

    1 Samuel 17:32 (The Message)

Whatever God wants to do in time, He does it through a people He has called out and sent.

Though Jesus is the head of the Church, He has also raised leaders, or shepherds, to the Churches for the administration of His word and His purpose.

The will and counsel of God are established in this world through His Church. And by His eternal counsel and wisdomHe has set leaders or shepherds (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers), to equip, instruct and guide the saints to work and achieve God’s goal.

The adversary attacks leaders of the various churches or ministries to disturb the work of God. He also uses cunning means to distract the focus and interest of the believers. He drifts them away from the Lord’s assignment to their personal ambitions.

Some have conformed their minds to the ideas, cultures and systems of this world. Others have gradually lost their confidence and zeal in the Lord.

They find it difficult to show up for Jesus and stand with their leaders in the work of the ministry. They make excuses whenever they have to take up responsibility in the Church.

They are gradually drawing back from getting involved in the war for souls.

The bold step David took to confront Goliath is an example of faith for every believer in Christ.

Many are within the Church but will hardly take a stand for the Church amid opposition.

In this post-modern era of social media, there is the abuse of freedom of speech and most people have cheaply become influencers. And they use their platforms to bastardize the glorious Church of Jesus.

Everyone is throwing a jab at the Church and making the Church the focus of their attacks. Even believers who are in the Church, have subtly turned against the Church.

Many have also become lovers of themselves, lovers of money, scoffers of God and pursue their own interests, as Paul mentioned in his letter to Timothy.

“For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.” 2 Timothy 3:2 (NLT).

People who love themselves cannot stand with God or show up with Jesus. They are not available for the Kingdom assignment.

Only a few believers are ready to go all out for Jesus.

They become frightened and feel hopeless at the slightest confrontation.

    They are like Saul’s army:

“The Israelites, to a man, fell back the moment they saw the giant—totally frightened…” 1 Samuel 17:24 (Message)

Are you part of those who fall back and are frightened by the opposition of this world?

Or are you among those who show up with Jesus in all places?

Are you an encouragement to your Pastor?

Can your Church leader set gospel outreach goals with you standing with him or her?

Are you controlled by the systems of this world or you are shining forth the light of the gospel?

Among the army of Israel were the senior brothers of David, who were trained for war; yet, they hid themselves in the camp or within the lines on the battlefield. They were not able to step forward or take a stand for the Lord.

Are you hiding among the crowds like the other brothers of David?
Or you are ready to stand out like David?

Can your Pastor or Leader share this testimony about you:

“There is no one like Timothy. What sets him apart from others is his deep concern for you and your spiritual journey. This is rare, my friends, for most people only care about themselves, not about what is dear to the heart of Jesus the Anointed. You know Timothy is genuine in the Lord’s ways. He has been a faithful partner to me as we express the good news, as much as my own flesh and blood would have been.” Philippians 2:20-22 (Voice)

Are you labouring with your leader in the gospel like Timothy did with Paul?

This is the time to GO ALL OUT FOR JESUS, for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

    THE PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT 2

“Jesus called out to them and said, “Come and follow me, and I will transform you into men who catch people for God.”

    Matthew 4:19 (TPT)

God desires that all men will be saved. People are His desire and pleasure.

He made the earth for man, and made man for the expression of Himself. God never designed man to perish. He made man for His glory.

He’s always had good intentions for man. God’s goal for man is to indwell man and become man’s satisfaction. It has always been His pleasure to bring man into His union and fellowship.

To fully achieve this, He sent His Son Jesus in the fullness of time, to deal with the problem of sin (which caused the separation of man from God). Through Jesus’ finished work in His death, burial and resurrection, all men had access to salvation.

Christ died for our offenses, and for our justification He was raised (Romans 4:25).

God’s work through the ages is to set man free from the bondage of sin and to bring man into His eternal fellowship, which was completed through the resurrection of Jesus.

By what Christ Jesus our Lord has done, we have peace with God.

This is the glorious news of salvation to all men. And through the system of discipleship, as many who come to receive this truth and come into this glorious fellowship with God have the primary assignment to spread this good news of Jesus to others.

“And God has made all things new, and reconciled us to Himself, and given us the ministry of reconciling others to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:18 (TPT)

God’s primary assignment through Christ was to bring us into Himself. And the moment we came into Christ, He entrusted us with this wonderful assignment of reconciliation.

Wherever you find yourself as a believer, you must joyously prioritize this primary assignment of bringing many to God through Christ.

As many as are reconciled to God through Christ, begin to enjoy God’s glorious life in Christ.

The assignment of reconciliation translates men from darkness into light and from slavery into sonship.

It gives meaning and hope to the hopeless.

This is the Lord’s commission for every believer.

Don’t look away, to pursue your own selfish interest. Don’t invest all your time into what makes you happy or pleases you. Set your affection on this assignment of soul winning or ministry of reconciliation.

Make the Lord’s mission your mission and passion.
Don’t procrastinate, get to work now!

    THE PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT

“Jesus called out to them and said, “Come and follow me, and I will transform you into men who catch people for God.”

    Matthew 4:19 (TPT)

When our Lord Jesus called His disciples, He was specific, direct, clear and blunt on what He was going to turn them into.

He was not going to produce “marketplace apostles”. He would not make them lawyers, accountants, successful medical doctors, politicians, Phd holders, international economists, CEOs of multinational empires, engineers, programmers, etc.

Jesus was going to make them new kinds of fishermen. He was going to turn them into men who catch people for God.

Jesus did not call His disciples to essentially improve their fishing business. He called them with the primary intention of transforming them into men who catch people for God.

This doesn’t mean our Lord devalue our individual careers or professions. Neither does it mean that He doesn’t bless our work. The Lord is interested in our career success, because He loves us. He instructs us to work and not be lazy through His word.

However, some believers have redefined the primary assignment of the believer. These people become disciples of Jesus with the perception that the Lord is going to help them succeed in their career or professional ambitions.

Did Jesus not help Peter to catch more fish?

The Lord did help Peter and his friends (Luke 5:4-11), and He continues to help those who believe in Him and respond to the instructions of the Spirit to succeed at what they do.

Irrespective of your career or occupation, your primary assignment as a disciple of Jesus is to make more disciples.

Jesus said, “…I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit…” John 15:16 (NLT)

This is the primary purpose of being a disciple of Jesus; to be like Christ and to become a fisher of men.

As a disciple of Jesus, you are brought into His fellowship and followership, so that through you God will bring many more men into His fellowship and followership.

“Then Jesus came close to them and said, “All the authority of the universe has been given to me. Now go in my authority and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (TPT)

No matter what you do, you must find yourself catching men for God. That is God’s desire.

He desires that all men shall be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.

Be the medium by which the Lord’s desire will be fulfilled.

    THIS IS A NECESSITY

“For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!”

    1 Corinthians 9:16 (ESV)

Did you read yesterday’s Machaira with Apostle Bennie?

Did you preach the gospel yesterday?

I will be glad to know how it has blessed you.

Beloved, preaching the gospel is not an option. It is a command of the Lord!

This is what our Lord and Savior Jesus commanded:

“And He said to them, “As you go into all the world, preach openly the wonderful news of the gospel to the entire human race! Whoever believes the good news and is baptized will be saved, and whoever does not believe the good news will be condemned” Mark 16:15-16 (TPT)

By this command, every believer is constrained with the responsibility to preach the gospel.

Whether there is a reward for you or not, you must preach the gospel. It is part of your stewardship.

The moment you become born again, God entrusts you with the task to ensure others also become saved. You are not reconciled to ignore the unsaved and the unreached. You are reconciled to bring others also to God.

When Paul encountered the Lord on his way to Damascus, the Lord gave him an assignment to preach the gospel.

“While so engaged as I was journeying to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests, at midday, O King, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining all around me and those who were journeying with me. And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ And I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. But rise up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you a servant and a witness not only to the things which you have seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you; rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.’ Acts 26:12-18 (Legacy Standard Bible)

The purpose of Jesus in your life is not to satisfy your own desires and selfish goals. You cannot truly experience Jesus and live only for yourself. He gave Himself to you so that you will live for Him. Whenever Jesus brings you into the revelation-light of Himself, He exposes you to a greater assignment. He gives you a calling which is bigger than yourself.

The love of Jesus will always compel you to have compassion towards the unsaved and the afflicted.

Don’t treat the assignment of preaching the gospel as a common thing. It is God’s medium of announcing His love to the world.

The assignment of preaching the gospel is an ambassadorial role of God’s Kingdom.

No matter the professional career you pursue, always remember you are first a missionary. Your first profession as a new creation in Christ is to preach the gospel of Jesus and to get men saved.

Paul said, “Oh King Agrippa, I did not forsake the Heavenly vision”.

No wonder he said, it’s a necessity laid on him. You don’t carry out the assignment of preaching Christ only when it is convenient or welcoming.

Just as the Lord said to Paul, “…I am sending you to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me”; He is also saying the same to you.

This is not an option, neither is it a suggestion. It is a command!

You have a compelling duty to open the eyes of many so that:

    PREACH THE GOSPEL DAILY

“Don’t stop! Keep on singing! Make his name famous! Tell everyone every day how wonderful he is. Give them the good news of our great Savior.”

    Psalm 96:2 (TPT)

The preaching of the gospel of Jesus is not just the responsibility of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, teachers and Pastors.

The preaching of the gospel is the responsibility of every believer.

“And God has made all things new, and reconciled us to himself, and given us the ministry of reconciling others to God. In other words, it was through the Anointed One that God was shepherding the world, not even keeping records of their transgressions, and he has entrusted to us the ministry of opening the door of reconciliation to God. We are ambassadors of the Anointed One who carry the message of Christ to the world…” 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (TPT)

As we have all been made ambassadors or representatives of Christ, we have the responsibility to tell everyone about His glorious work.

Most believers enjoy the privileges of being sons of God, heirs of God, Justified in Christ, eternally forgiven, blessed with all spiritual blessings, supplied with an abundance of grace and filled with the Holy Spirit.

However, they don’t take delight in announcing the glorious news of Jesus to their world and getting many saved.

Jesus said, “But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (Amplified Bible)

The Holy Spirit in you is to give you ability and power and to also make you a witness of Jesus.
You have the responsibility to tell others about Jesus and the glorious things He has achieved through His death, burial and resurrection.

This is not done only when there is a special event. This responsibility is not to be carried out once in a year. It is a daily task.

As you can see in the opening verse:

“Don’t stop! Keep on singing! Make his name famous! Tell everyone every day how wonderful He is. Give them the good news of our great Savior.” Psalm 96:2 (TPT)

You have to tell everyone about Jesus every day. It is not a once-a-week thing. Wherever you find yourself at any time, you must announce the glorious news of Jesus.

Paul said to Timothy “preach the Word of God urgently at all times, whenever you get the chance, in season and out, when it is convenient and when it is not…”

Don’t just sit waiting for a convenient time. Whether is in season or out of season. Whether you feel like preaching or you don’t feel like preaching, you must preach.
Preach the gospel whether you are happy or not.
It is a necessity. Lives are in need of the gospel. You can’t wait till tomorrow. The time to announce the glorious news of Jesus is today and now.
