    DEEP INTIMACY OF LOVE

“Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”

    John 14:23

Understand that, your love for Jesus is an outflow of His love for you.Your love for Jesus is not unconditional.

However, your love for Jesus is according to the condition of His love.

Delighting in Jesus is to love Him (Read Loving Jesus 2). To love Jesus is for Him to be your craving, desire, and pleasure. This is how you keep His commandments or words; by desiring the Lord. The one who craves, desires, highly esteems, treasures, values and is awe-struck by the Lord is the one who believes in the Lord. Believing in the Lord is to trust or entrust and commit yourself unto Him. It is to accept and receive Him as who He says He is. Jesus used the word “believe” about 85 times in the Gospel of John. And about 5 times in only John chapter 14. John 14:12, He said, “Verily, Verily, I say to you, he who believes in Me…”The expression verily denotes “Most Assuredly” or a strong certainty.Your believe in the Lord Jesus is an important response of your love to Him.Contextually, believing in the Lord is also essential in keeping His commandments or words. This makes you have a special relationship with the Lord.Yes, “for God so loved the world…” however, it is only those who BELIEVE IN HIM, “SHOULD HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE”. (See John 3:16).To believe in the Lord is also to RECEIVE the Lord. Those who did not receive Him were “unbelievers”. (John 1:11-12).

Though the Lord loves all men, He only has a special intimate relationship with those who have believed or received Him.

Three times in John 14, Jesus affirmed the results of keeping (treasuring, valuing, esteeming, believing, receiving, craving and desiring) His words:“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever“. John 14:15-16He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” John 14:21“Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and *My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” John 14:23 Now there are three key expressions in these points: – He will give you another Helper, who may abide with you forever. – Will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. – My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. Now these three key expressions are not separated in reality; they all point to the same matter – DEEP INTIMACY OF LOVE. See this, to receive the Helper who will abide with you forever is to receive the person of the Holy Spirit.

To be loved by the Father and the Lord even more, whereas they manifest themselves to you, is the work of the Holy Spirit.

And they bring in you to make their home in you, is the inward family relationship with the Holy Spirit. Each of these three expressions, which are the Lord’s promise to keep or delight in His word, points us to a DEEP INTIMACY WITH GOD through the Holy Spirit. For God to manifest Himself, is to demystify Himself or to strip Himself naked before us. One strip his heart, deep thoughts, emotions and even body naked only in a deep intimate relationship with the other.

The Holy Spirit indwells in the one who has received the Lord.

Now through your new birth experience, you received the Holy Spirit, however, the more you delight yourself in the Lord, the deeper you become intimate with Him. The more you set your affection on the Lord, the more He manifests Himself to you.

Beloved, grow in the intimacy of the Love of Christ.

    JESUS OUR PATTERN

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one anotherBy this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

     John 13:34-35

About 13 times in the New Testament, we see the phrase “love one another”. And that reveals the importance of this commandment. How we love one another makes others know we are disciples of Jesus. (John 13:35) The newness of this commandment of Jesus is Himself. Jesus didn’t just give us His command to love one another. He made Himself the pattern and supply of that commandment.

We are not to love one another by how we love ourselves. We love one another according to the portrait of Jesus.

“This is my commandment: that you love one another as I have loved you” John 15:12 (ISV) What is the extent of Jesus’s love for us? How has he loved us? Love is not just an utterance, love is a walk. “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” 1 John 3:18 (NLT)  Love is a life lived or an action. Love is not suppositious or conjectured. Love is demonstrated and experienced.

Understand that love is more than a feeling. To love is to serve.

Today let us begin to look at some practical ways Jesus demonstrated His love of service for us: Before Jesus gave the new commandment in John 13:34, look at what happened in the earlier verses: “Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end… Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded…So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.”(John 13:1,3-5;12-17) From these verses, we realize, there is no room to guess what Jesus meant by “as I have loved you” in John 13:34. He has shown us a clear example of what we should do in verse 15;   For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. What did Jesus really do? He served His disciples by washing their feet. Feet washing is an art of hospitality among the Israelites. Most oriental people, including the Israelites, wore sandals instead of shoes in the past, and as they usually went barefoot in the house, frequent washing of the feet was a necessity. Hence among the Israelites, it was the first duty of the host to give his guest water to wash his feet. To omit this was a mark of unfriendliness. This was done either by the wife or the servants. Mostly, it’s done before meals. (See Genesis 18:4; Genesis 19:2, Genesis 24:32; Genesis 43:24). This is a symbol of honour, service and humility for one another.

We love one another by serving one another with that which God has given us. And that was what Jesus showed His disciples.

“Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor]” 1 Peter 4:10 (Amplified Bible). Beloved, are you in pursuit of your own interest?Or are you in pursuit of serving the brethren?   As Christ has loved you, serve one another. Shalom!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWsm09KI7kU&t=236sDIG DEEPER(1 John 4:20; 1 Peter 4:10-11; Romans 12:10; Philippians 2:1-11) WE PRAY That we enjoy the abundance of grace to relentlessly love the saints by serving them in humility and honour. BIBLE READING IN THE YEAR 2024 Psalms 111 – 113 DECLARE THESE WORDS:– I serve the saints in love.  – I am an example of the love of Christ to others.  – I love with ease because Christ is the supply of my love.  – I refuse to be selfish.  – I am committed to serving others in humility. Hallelujah!!!

    DISPENSE HIS RICH LOVE

“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome”

    1 John 5:3 (NKJV).

Understanding God’s love is so essential for your manifestation.

Beloved, do you love the Lord? The answer is here: “If ye love me, keep my commandments… He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.” John 14:15;24 (KJV). To keep God’s commandment is to walk in obedience to His Word. It is to fulfill an authoritative prescription. This means the Lord’s commandments are not burdensome. As we have seen in the opening verse (1 John 5:3). The word “burdensome” is the Greek word, “barus” which means, burdensome grave, or grievous, heavy weightier.

God’s commandment does not lead to a burdensome grave. God’s commandment as revealed in Christ, is Life.

It is an authorized prescription of liberty. Remember Jesus is the Truth and the Life. (John 14:6; John 1:14; John 1:4). The Lord’s commandments are not lists of rules and regulations you must follow. He is not speaking of the Law given to Israel through Moses. The Lord’s commandments are the revelation of Himself. He is the complete revelation of God.He is the truth of God that brings freedom (John 8:32) For Jesus to say, “If” you love me, doesn’t necessarily mean, it’s possible a born-again, may lack His love. When you become born again, the Love of God is dispensed into you, through, the Holy Spirit. (Romans 5:5). Thus, you already have the capacity to Love the Lord. This means that keeping Jesus’ commandments is a product of your love for Him.

Doing what Jesus says, or obeying His Word, is an outflow of the love of God at work in you.

This love is deeply rich and cannot be exhausted nor be quenched by any level of selfish desire. It is beyond any strong affection and set on doing what Jesus wants. That means love is an empowering ability within you to respond right to the Words of Jesus and act on them.

The more you act on the Word of the Lord, the more you demonstrate His rich love, which is at work in you.

You train yourself to demonstrate His Love and to bear the fruits of His love in you. Shalomhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWsm09KI7kU&t=236sDIG DEEPER(Deuteronomy 6:5;10:12; Mark 12:30; John 8:29;55) WE PRAY1. That your love will grow and increase beyond measure, bringing you into the rich revelation of spiritual insight in all things. And that you will be enabled to choose the most excellent way of all —becoming pure and without offense until the unveiling of Christ.  2. And you will be filled completely with the fruits of righteousness that are found in Jesus, the Anointed One—bringing great praise and glory to God! BIBLE READING IN THE YEAR 2024 Psalms 109 – 111 DECLARE THESE WORDS:– I am empowered by the Love of Christ to act on His Word.  – I dispense the rich love of God. – I grow in the love of God .  I function in the knowledge of God’s Word. Hallelujah!!!

    THE FATHER’S LOVE 2

“… So the father raced out to meet him. He swept him up in his arms, hugged him dearly, and kissed him over and over with tender love.” Luke 15:20 (TPT)

Jesus who is God made flesh, came to us to show us the God-life.

Jesus demonstrated to mankind the true and perfect character of God.

Man had always had a wrong picture of God.

However, Jesus brought to light the fullness of the goodness of God and His loveliness as the Father.

He showed how God, will always attend to the details of our lives and be our great comfort. He healed the sick, the lame, the lepers and the blind.
Those who were condemned to death according to the law, were brought to Him, He showed them forgiveness.

Jesus didn’t only demonstrate the love of God, He taught on God’s love using parables and stories. There are about 52 recorded parables of Jesus in the Gospels. Most of these artistic parables are authentic to only Jesus; they are depiction of Himself. Which of course most rabbinic parables are not focused on the rabbi. But Jesus’ were different.

In Luke 15, Jesus shared three beautiful parables which explained how God’s love works.

Just in Luke chapter 15 and 16, Jesus shared, five (5) amazing parables.

Two of the parables were in Luke 16, and Jesus was talking to His disciples, to have better understanding of how the economy of God works in contrast to how the religious Jewish leaders think.

However, the three (3) parables  in Luke 15 were direct responses to the religious and self righteous Jewish leaders.

They assumed they knew God and His character, but never knew anytime they spoke to Jesus, they were speaking to God made flesh.

“By this time a lot of men and women of questionable reputation were hanging around Jesus, listening intently. The Pharisees and religion scholars were not pleased, not at all pleased. They growled, “He takes in sinners and eats meals with them, treating them like old friends.” Their grumbling triggered this story” Luke 15:1-3 (The Message)

Parables (the Greek word is Parabole) are stories or illustrations, or a general term for figurative saying. Parables are not to be taken literal but must be examined closely to draw out the meaning from the perspective of the narrator.

It is in parallel to the Hebrew word, “mashal”. Which means to speak or use a proverb, speak or make parables and speak in sentences of poetry.

You find this a lot in the Old Testament portion of the Bible. The prophets, psalmist, leaders and kings spoke in these manner.

The parables Jesus spoke are of Jewish concept and background than the Greeks.

This will help you not to submit your thoughts to the several misconceptions around the parables of Jesus.

In Luke 15 you will find a parable of:
    1. The Lost sheep.
    2. The Lost coin and
    3. The Loving Father

Most people have got the third parable all wrong.

The focus of these three parables is Jesus and not the sheep, the coin or the son.

The parable does not depict a prodigal son, but instead, the LOVING FATHER.

Interestingly, those who heard the parable didn’t see a prodigal son. They heard and saw the heart of Jesus through this parable.

    Jesus illustrated:

    – How He loves sinners and how He is eagerly ready to receive those who are called sinners.

    – The warmth and love He gives and shows “sinners” no matter how dirty they look in the eyes of the religious folks.

    – How He transforms the hearts of the condemned, when they come to Him.

The Father never called His son prodigal.

When the young son set off for home. His father saw him coming from a long distance away. Which means the father has always been looking forward for the return of his son. Though the son was dressed as a beggar. The father didn’t start by complaining and reminding him of how foolish he was. Instead the father had great compassion swelled up in his heart for his son who was returning home.

And the father raced out to meet him. He swept him up in his arms, hugged him dearly, and kissed him over and over with tender love. The Father didn’t care about his son’s dirty state.

    Look at the son’s response:

“Then the son said, ‘Father, I was wrong. I have sinned against you. I could never deserve to be called your son. Just let me be—’

“The father interrupted and said, ‘Son, you’re home now!’ Luke 15:21 (TPT)

The father wasn’t listening to the son but was focused on loving him..

When we feel imperfect and unworthy before the Lord, He doesn’t see our imperfections. He sees us worthy of His love and saving grace.

The Father wasn’t ready to listen to his son’s sense of guilt . He interrupted and said, “Son, you are home now!”

    Wow!

The warmth of the loving Father .

The father reminded him of his place, by calling him “Son…”

This is how God sees you; no matter your guilt and shame; you are His son and He loves you with an everlasting love.

“The LORD appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” Jeremiah 31:3 (ESV)

Focus on the Love of the Father and not your imperfection.

    Hallelujah!

    THE FATHER’S LOVE 1

“… So the father raced out to meet him. He swept him up in his arms, hugged him dearly, and kissed him over and over with tender love.”

    Luke 15:20 (TPT)

The Holy Bible is flooded with countless refreshing scriptures. And they convey the character, the essence and the wisdom of God.

The goal of the word of God is that all men may be fully satisfied in God, through the knowledge and understanding of Him.

Jesus (who is God made flesh) came to bring us into that eternal experience.

The people who have been abused by religion and controlled by the rulers of darkness have a wrong mindset and doubts about the Bible.

Some also have the wrong picture of God. And even think that Jesus came to change God’s mind about us. The image which has been painted over the period is that an angry hot-tempered God, wanted to destroy mankind and Jesus came to make Him change His mind.

This picture which has been painted over the centuries is not consistent with the word of God.

    Get this:

    – God is good. (Nahum 1:7)

    – God is unchanging! (Malachi 3:6)

    – God is Love. (1 John 4:8)

Jesus didn’t come to change God’s mind about us, He came to change our mindset about God.

Jesus is God made flesh. He came to show mankind the true picture of God.

“For God so loved the world…” (John 3:16).

“God spared not His son, but gave Him up for us all…” (Romans 8:32)

    Glory to God…

    WAIT A MINUTE:

DID YOU KNOW Machaira with Apostle Bennie is already Episode 500?

500 episodes of rich verities, dissolving hard sentences and establishing you in the consciousness of the glorious life and tender love in Christ.

    Hurray!

It’s been 500 days of an unceasing flow of divine revelations and experiences of the Father’s love.

Until Jesus came, no one related to God as Father.

He came to show us the Fatherhood of God.

“I have revealed to them who you are and I will continue to make you even more real to them, so that they may experience the same endless love that you have for me, for your love will now live in them, even as I live in them!” John 17:26 (TPT)

Through Jesus, the Fatherhood of God is revealed and the experience of His love is made real. Without Him, you cannot perfectly know the Father in a real way and may not experience His endless love for you.

He said, “You are my righteous Father, but the unbelieving world has never known you in the perfect way that I know you!…” John 17:25 (TPT)

You will have a perfect knowledge of God when you behold Jesus.

One time as the disciples of Jesus were asking him about the Father:

“Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.” John 14:8 (NLT)

    Wow!

Don’t mistake this satisfaction as the “satisfaction of their curiosity”.

There is a longing for a deep relationship with God. There is no relationship with God which transcends, His Father-son relationship with us.

You experience an immeasurable satisfaction when you come into the reality that, God is your Father. There is nothing more you need, nothing more satisfying, nothing that is enough for you, than the revelation of the Father.

The revelation of the Father is what makes you have a real experience of His love.

Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?” John 14:9 (NLT)

You don’t need to look too far to see the Father; Jesus is the Father!

To see the heart, care, kindness, sacrifice, mercy, forgiveness and graciousness of Jesus, is to see the heart and character of the Father.

Just as the Father is unchanging, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8), He is unchanging!

He brought to light the fullness of the Father’s goodness and love.

When the Father looks at you, He doesn’t see a prodigal son. He doesn’t want you to focus on yourself and your weakness. He wants you to focus on His love; for that is how you are most satisfied.

The Father rejoices over you, He wants you to experience the warmth of His tender love, each day.

    Hallelujah!

    THE SUPERNATURAL COMMANDMENT

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

Jesus did not leave His disciples without clear instructions. The instructions of Jesus are life.  He didn’t come to die for us, resurrect and ascend to Heaven without giving us clear commandments.

Beloved, He gave us the Holy Spirit and He also gave us His commandments.

Most times, we hear people say, we are not “UNDER A LAW…”Then we begin to think we have no Law and commandments. That is not entirely true. Because the Bible never said that. Of course, we are not “UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES” Whenever the Bible says, we are not under the law, it is referring to the LAW OF MOSES.

That law couldn’t bring us into the full expression of God.

In Christ, we have A NEW LAW OF LIFE (Romans 8:2). This law is also the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). The commandments of Jesus are not the Commandments of Moses.

The commandments of Jesus are not merely demands. The commandments of Jesus also supply us with life and ability.

The truth is that His commandments are the dispensing of Himself. Let me talk to You: Whatever, Jesus tells you to do is what He has become to you and what He has made you. He doesn’t just demonstrate what He tells you to do. He becomes what He tells you to do in you.Our Lord Jesus doesn’t show you how to live His life externally. He has indwelt you through the Holy Spirit to do what He tells you to do, with you.

You don’t walk in the obedience of His commandments alone. You walk in obedience to His commandments with Him.

Paul said, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God” 2 Corinthians 3:5 See The Passion Translation: “Yet we don’t see ourselves as capable enough to do anything in our own strength, for our true competence flows from God’s empowering presence”

This is what it is when I say, “The commandments of Jesus are Life”.

He says, “Without me, you can do nothing” (John 15:5). The golden rule of the commandments of Moses is, “Love your neighbour as yourself” This is demanding and limited.

It means the ability to love is issuing out of your love for yourself. And you can only love as far as you love yourself.

How far can you love with this limited ability of love in you? And even until Jesus came, we had not seen the full expression of love. Through Jesus, we saw a whole new civilization of love.  Paul says, “to know the love of Christ which surpasses all knowledge…” Ephesians 3:19.

This means Moses’ commandment of love cannot bring you into full expression of the love of God.

And till today, many are still living by “love your neighbour as yourself”. But Jesus is inviting us to a higher dimension of love. He said,  “ a New” Commandment I give. It means from now onwards you don’t operate by the Mosaic law.  The Lord is saying, I bring you something new. The word for new is “Kainos”, it means freshness, recently made, unused, unworn, unprecedented, uncommon, unheard of.It is not “new” in terms of time, but “new” as to form or quality, of a different nature from what is contrasted as old. It relates to being not previously present; as set over against that which is outworn, the effete or burnt-out through age. Beloved, this New Commandment of love Jesus gave was beyond any human comprehension and experience.

    It is a supernatural commandment.

The new commandment of Jesus says: “…as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” This love is beyond the domain of men. It is beyond the standard of men. This is a higher standard of love. And no man can meet its demand. This is why God designed it to only be supplied to you by Himself.

This love doesn’t work just by utterance. It works by life. And you cannot wake up one day to just start loving as He has loved you unless you have received Him into you.

The greatest mind couldn’t imagine this love. He Himself has to be the picture of this love.

To walk in this love, you must know more and more the extent to which He has loved you.

“All this is proceeding along lines planned all along by God and then executed in Christ Jesus. When we trust in him, we’re free to say whatever needs to be said, bold to go wherever we need to go. So don’t let my present trouble on your behalf get you down. Be proud! My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights!
