    FOLLOW THE LORD

“My own sheep will hear my voice and I know each one, and they will follow me”

    John 10:27 (TPT)

Have you ever looked around and into your future and all you saw was chaos and distress?

Have you found yourself in a situation where everything seems to be crushing on you, and there is no way out?

Do you feel lost and confused with overwhelming thoughts of uncertainty?

Do you feel like a total failure and don’t know how to make your way to a successful destination?

There is good news for you. Stop the struggle and turn to the Lord.

You may ask how do I stop the struggle? I am already caught up in the struggle.

Let me help you understand this:

Challenges or the negative situations you find yourself in are not the struggle. The struggle is your reaction to the challenge or the negative situation.

No challenge has the power to break you until you are weak. Challenges must become stepping stones for your next level of success.

It only takes a few seconds for a person to drown in water. Mostly, these people ignorantly get into struggling mode or fight-and-flight mode when they feel they can’t easily inhale or exhale. The flight or struggle mode doesn’t give them the opportunity to work on holding their breath for some seconds in the water.

Most people who escape from being submerged in water, don’t respond to drowning by struggling. They relax the body into a floating position so that they can breathe.

When the vicissitudes seem to submerge or suffocate you, don’t respond with a struggle, train your mind and heart to trust in the Lord. That is how you refuse to struggle.

To trust in the Lord is to be in a position of rest. In this position, you float on the challenges of life.

As a child of God, take matters into your hands by first following the Lord. You follow the Lord because you are of His sheepfold. He is your shepherd. The Lord as your shepherd is your greatest advantage in this dark world.

In David’s poetic praise, he said:

“The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss.” Psalm 23:1-2 (TPT).

    Oh, glory to God!

It is not possible to follow the Lord and be controlled by challenges. The beautiful thing is that your walk with the Lord makes you bold. To follow the Lord is to be conquered by the presence and power of the Lord. No matter where you find yourself fear will not conquer you. You just know the Lord is with you.

Live each day of your life following the Lord’s steps and leading.

You are His workmanship created unto good works which He has foreordained that you walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).

Therefore He knows where you should be per time. The script of your life is written in His eternal scrolls. They are His thoughts in expression. Whenever you react with struggle and choose your own path, you act contrary to His original script for your life.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

As you follow the Lord’s leading, you walk and enjoy His perfect plan for your life.

Stop the struggle and start following the Lord’s leading.

    WALK IN HIS WILL

“Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

    Luke 22:42 (Berean Standard Bible).

Beloved, by the revelation of scriptures, we realize that man has a crucial role to enact in the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan and purpose.

God as the creator has an intention for His creation. Just as every inventor has an intention for his or her invention.

God made us to be His workmanship unto good works. (Ephesians 2:10).

He also designed man to have an organic partnership with Him.

God didn’t make man just to exhibit His creative ability.

    When He made man:

    – He gave man a spirit (Zechariah 12:1; Ecclesiastes 12:7; Isaiah 42:5; Numbers 26:22), so that man will be able to relate with Him. Remember, God is a Spirit (John 4:24).

    – He made man a living soul. Genesis 2:7 (which includes the mind, the will and the emotions).

God gave man a mind (Psalm 139:13-16) to be able to reason.

    – He gave man a will to make decisions and choices (Genesis 2:16-17; John 1:12-13).

    – He gave man emotions to feel and interpret his or her experiences and He also gave man a body to function in this physical world. (See also 1 Thessalonians 5:23)

These items reveal how God designed man in other to have a well-structured partnership with him.

By these items, it becomes possible for God to work together with man to achieve His eternal purpose through time.

These also reveal how man can choose to live independently of God. Though man can only achieve God’s intention when He has an interdependence with Him.

Surely, God made you to partner with Him to achieve His purpose.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

God doesn’t force you to live and function according to His will.

To work with God and experience true fulfillment, you must willingly make a decision to function according to His WILL.

Noah had to choose to believe in God’s word to build an ark before the flood. Others had the opportunity to join him, but they refused.

Abraham had to willingly leave his father’s house for a land God would show him. And through that step of faith, all nations were blessed through him.

Joseph had to decide to honor God and reject Potiphar’s wife.

David had to choose to stand with the Lord and to stand up for His people.

Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah decided to stand with God and not bow to any other God, irrespective of the threat and danger.

Despite the persecutions, the apostles and disciples of Jesus did not turn away but continued to preach and spread the gospel of our Lord.

You can decide to do things according to your will or according to the will of God.

    The choice is with you.

It is time to say, LORD not my will BUT YOUR WILL!

    SUBMIT TO HIS WILL

“Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

    Luke 22:42 (Berean Standard Bible).

Every inventor has an intention for his or her invention. Nobody creates or invents a product without a purpose. The inventor programs his or her invention to function according to the intended purpose.

For example, different types of vehicles help us facilitate various daily tasks. Imagine using four to six-wheelers for water transportation.

For water transportation, we use boats and vessels unless there is an improvement in the programming of wheelers.

God is the creator of the universe. He made man and designed Him for the good pleasure of His will. (Genesis 1:1; 27)

The difference between man and all other created things is the components which make man.

One crucial item within man’s being that gives him a sense of independence is the WILL.

Man is not an outgrowth of an existing creature. Man is a grand designed work of the Creator. God was intentional about how He wanted man to be.

God made man to be the crown of all His creation. He didn’t make man to be chained or locked up in a mechanical design and pattern of living. He gave man the ability to decide and to choose.

Of all of His creation, God said to Himself (at the Divine Council):

“Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 (AMP).

For man to have the moral likeness of God, man needed to share in the ability or power to make a choice. This is the power of the Will of Man. God gave man a will that by that will, man can decide for himself how he wants his life to be lived.

This reveals the kind of relationship God wanted to have with man. God didn’t want His relationship with man to be based on a chain-of-commands. He wanted to have a fellowship of love and life with man. This means man will not obey the commands and will of God mechanically but organically. Man has to choose to walk in the will of God or to walk in His own will.

This makes the relationship God wants to have with man authentic and organic. It has to be an authentic interdependence.

God is love and doesn’t want to impose His will on any man.

Ultimately, the essence of the universe and all creation is according to the good pleasure of God’s Will. Therefore, in as much as man has the power to function according to his own will and to make his own choices, His true fulfillment of life finds absolute expression in the GOOD PLEASURE OF GOD’S WILL.

God wants man to willingly accept to walk in His ultimate WILL.

Even when God became man (Jesus), He has to decide between His Will in time or His eternal WILL. And by the grand design of God’s eternal will, He has to become sin to terminate the nature and power of sin. (John 1:29; 2 Corinthians 5:21). This was going to separate Him from His eternal nature and reality for a moment.

    The question is:

    – Was God going to go by His will in time (not to yield to the burden of becoming sin and the momentary separation from His nature)?

    – Or is He going to yield to His eternal plan and will, which was established from the foundation of the earth?

    (See Acts 2:23; Revelation 13:8)

Though God gave man the will to make his or her individual choices and decisions; in the heart of every man, God has woven the desire of His plan. He has put a longing for eternal fulfillment in every man’s heart.

“He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 (AMP)

So man also at every point, may have to choose between fulfilling their own desires and will or God’s eternal desire and will.

You have to decide whether the life you have will be lived according to your will or God’s Will.

You have to come to a point to say, YES I HAVE THE POWER TO CHOOSE WHAT I WANT, YET NOT MY WILL BUT THE WILL OF GOD.

EPISODE 219 – ARE YOU PLEASING GOD OR MEN?

    CHRIST COMMONWEALTH-COMMUNITY

ARE YOU PLEASING GOD OR MEN?

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10 (KJV)

Let me first make this clear, men are important in everyone’s success. Nobody rises or does something great without committed and loyal people.

There are people who act as though they don’t need any man to help them. That is a mere assumption.

Everyone will need help from a man. Have genuine love and respect for people.

However, in the fulfillment of God’s plans and purposes, you don’t run your race to please men.

You don’t labour to prove others wrong. Labour with the Lord to fulfill the purpose of His will.

Pleasing the Lord should be the focus of your heart.

“But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts” 1 Thessalonians 2:4 (KJV)

Your life and ministry should not be directed by what others are doing.

Do what God has called you to do. You can be inspired by what others do. However, you must do what you do not to impress anyone. You do what you do because God has inspired and affirmed that you do it.

What has God called you to do? Where has God called you to be?

    Beloved take heed!

“Tell Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfill it.” Colossians 4:17

What is the Lord inspiring you to do?

Are those ideas derived from your sense of competition with the brethren or what God is telling you to do?

Or you are taking steps simply because your colleague ministers and friends are doing the same?

Let no man force you or threaten you into doing things the Lord has not instructed you to do.

Let no man lure you to go where God has not called you to go.

I remember, two years ago, I received some invitations to minister in some cities outside Africa, and this minister inviting me was part of a certain ministerial circle where they invite each other to programs and travel all around, sharing platforms.

I asked why I should join his circle of friends, why I should host him. He only spoke of the importance of traveling as a minister and places he has travelled to. Sent me pictures, and even asked me to visit his Facebook page. Which I did, but didn’t experience ministry. I only saw his pictures with ‘great’ men of God. He was ready to send me the invite, afterwards, I will also host him.

Thank God I have a strong word and instruction within me:

It is not how far you travel around the world.
It is how deep you grow in the Lord.

At a point, it looked like I wasn’t daring enough. It looked like I was missing out on an open door and I was not ambitious enough.

“Cease ye from man, whose breath [is] in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?”
    Isaiah 2:22

Yes it’s good to run… It’s good to do big things, YET WE RUN IN PATIENCE!

The fear of men shouldn’t influence your decisions in life.
The fear of men is a snare. Put your trust in the Lord. (Proverbs 29:25)

You can be encouraged by the good works of other brethren.
Be provoked unto good works ordained by God not selfish desires.

Be inspired and directed by the Spirit!

    Spend time in prayer…
    Handle instructions from the Lord.

Don’t be influenced merely by social media influencers.
Don’t try to be like everybody. Don’t try to fit into the society.

Obey the Lord not the trends.

“Then Peter and the [other] apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men” Acts 5:29

Don’t be scared of the outcome of your commitment to what the Lord has instructed you to do.

“Faithful is he who has called you; it is he who shall perform it” 1 Thessalonians 5:24

    Don’t compromise!

    BE INSPIRED BY THE LORD!

    …BUT YOUR WILL… 2

“Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.” Luke 22:42 (Berean Standard Bible).

Beloved, by the revelation of scriptures, and from previous discussions we had in other episodes of Machaira with Apostle Bennie, we will realize that man has a crucial role to enact in the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan and purpose.

Just as I mentioned in the first part of this discussion; God as the creator has an intention for His creation. Just as every inventor has an intention for his or her invention.

God made us to be His workmanship unto good works (Ephesians 2:10).

    – He gave man a will to make decisions and choices (Genesis 2:16-17; John 1:12-13).

    – He gave man emotions to feel and interpret his or her experiences and He also gave man a body to function in this physical world. (See also 1 Thessalonians 5:23)

These items reveal how God designed man in other to have a well structured partnership with him.

By these items it becomes possible for God to work together with man to achieve His eternal purpose through time.

These also reveal how man can choose to live independent of God. Though man can only achieve God’s intention when He has an interdependence with Him.

    …BUT YOUR WILL… 1

“Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.” Luke 22:42 (Berean Standard Bible).

Every inventor has an intention for his or her invention. Nobody creates or invents a product without a purpose. The inventor programs his or her invention to function according to the intended purpose.

For man to have the moral likeness of God, it was necessary for man to share in the ability or power to make a choice. This is the power of the Will of Man. God gave man a will that by that will, man can decide for himself how he wants his life to be lived.

    – Or He is going to yield to His eternal plan and will which was established from the foundation of the earth?

You have to make a decision whether the life you have will be lived according to your will or God’s Will.

You have to come to a point to say, YES I HAVE THE POWER TO CHOOSE WHAT I WANT, YET NOT MY WILL BUT THE WILL OF GOD.

    WE PRAY
That in all things we will yield ourselves to walk in the ultimate WILL of God.
