THE SUPPLY-CENTER OF STRENGTH IS IN YOU
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
On a normal day, you know you are healthy, and you have the physical strength or energy to go about your business or daily tasks.
But even though you are physically strong, there are certain tasks you realize you are not able to execute because you feel weak inwardly.
Though being healthy and physically fit is good, people who accomplish big things don’t do it because they have physical strength. It doesn’t take men with big muscles to do big things.
Mental strength is always powerful than physical strength.
A man with super mental strength will rule over a man who has more physical strength.
Take good care of your body, so that it can carry your strong mind. However don’t just build muscles, without building your mind.
While mental strength is great, there is such a thing as divine strength, which is greater.
Have you heard a healthy person saying, “I don’t have the strength to conitnue this task”, before?
Such people do not mean that they are sick or weak. What they mean is that they lack the inner capacity or vigor for the task.
Every task or assignment requires a special capacity for execution.
A man is sustained by the inward strength he has built.
“If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small” Proverbs 24:10 (KJV)
The strength you have determines what you can withstand and conquer.
There are some tasks or challenges, your physical strength wouldn’t be able to help you conquer. There are others your mental strength wouldn’t be enough to sustain you.
“He guards the steps of His faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness; for by his own strength shall no man prevail.“ 1 Samuel 2:9 Berean Standard Bible).
To prevail is to be great or exceedingly mighty. And there is a certain degree of greatness which your own strength cannot sustain.
We find the solution here:
“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.“ Zechariah 4:6 (ESV)
Beyond the self-generated might or power, there is the might and power of the Spirit.
The strength of the Spirit produces in you an unceasing flow of divine strength to do anything God has called you to do.
As part of the promise of the Holy Spirit, Jesus outlines the function of the Holy Spirit in the believer:
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever” John 14:16 (Amplified Bible)
From the above verse, you will find that the function or role of the Holy Spirit in a believer is who He is in you forever.
The Holy Spirit is not just in you to comfort and strengthen you. The Holy Spirit is in you forever as the Strengthener and comforter.
To have the Holy Spirit in you is to have the supply-center of strengthen in you.
Whenever people think of the need to receive strength or to have strength they think of the outward activities they can engage.
The kind of strength the Prophet Isaiah wrote about in chapter 40 of his prophetic book wasn’t about physical strength. He was writing about divine strength.
And to have this divine strength is to behold and have the LORD.
“O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.” Isaiah 40:9-10 (KJV)
You don’t separate what God supplies or gives to you from Him.
Whatever God gives you and makes you become, that is who He is. Thus, whatever God gives to you, is who He is. God doesn’t just give you things He gives you Himself.
God gives you wisdom because He is Wisdom. He brings you Salvation because He is Salvation. He brings you righteousness because He is Righteousness. He brings you strength because He is Strength.
People try to look for divine strength without God. You cannot find divine strength outside God. To have divine strength you must have God.
As believer in Christ you have the advantage, God lives in you, therefore His strength is inside you.
Oh glory to God, you have the strength of God.
