EPISODE 897 – THE REALITY OF GREATNESS
CHRIST COMMONWEALTH-COMMUNITY
The Love-Life Agency

Unforgiveness or holding on to an offence is a destructive weapon of the enemy. One of the devices of Satan is to use or take advantage of unforgiveness. As you forgive others as Christ has forgiven you, you learn to SHIELD UP BY FAITH against the arrows of bitterness, offences, anger and sorrow. Selah.

THE REALITY OF GREATNESS
“But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant”
Matthew 23:11 (NKJV)
Sincerely everyone wants to experience greatness or manifest greatness.
Though each person would want to be great for his or her unique reason, it could be for selfless reasons or selfish reasons.
You don’t judge your greatness by the standards of the world.
To be great is not how you control or lord yourself over others.
It is not how others bow to you.
Greatness in the kingdom is essentially service.
You don’t serve to be great.
Because you serve you are great!
Those who do great things for God, serve selflessly. If it is not selfless, then it is not service.
God is not with you to do great things for yourself. God is with you to accomplish great things to bless others.
The extent of your greatness is measured by the extent of your service.
The more people you stretch yourself through the sufficient ability of God to bless or serve, the more you demonstrate the greatness of God in you.
Look at what Jesus said to his disciples:
“Hearing this, the [other] ten became indignant with James and John. Calling them to Himself, Jesus said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their powerful men exercise authority over them [tyrannizing them]. But this is not how it is among you; instead, whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first and most important among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a [f]ransom for many.” Mark 10:41-45 (Amplified)

God has called us unto greatness, and He is with us to do great things.
Now if you are thinking of where to start from, our Lord Jesus has given the obvious answer: SERVE!
From Mark 10:42-45, you can see the contrast between the greatness of this world and the greatness of the Kingdom.
To serve in the Kingdom is to selflessly make sacrifices which will bless others. This doesn’t deny the idea that the Lord exalts those who serve in the Kingdom. He surely rewards those who labour in the Kingdom.
Yet, the motive of our service is to be a satisfaction unto others.
Beloved, attempt to do something great for your generation through service.
And it takes humility and genuine heart for God, to serve others.
David didn’t become great because he wanted to “lord over others”. He became great because he saw an opportunity to serve his nation Israel.
Who else will you find in the Kingdom who did great things without service?
Even our Lord came to serve and not to be served. This is the reality of greatness.
Selah.

Whoever wants to be great must learn to serve. It is actually in our service to God we become great. That God has appointed you to be leader means God has offered you a greatness opportunity. In such a way that if you will be diligent to see people saved and blessed then through that you become great.
To be the leader does not mean you are to Lord over the people God has brought to you. It means to become a conduit of blessing to help and raise the people God has given you.
Leadership is sacrifice…it is not luxury..Leadership and servanthood…it is “bossism”.
