PRACTICE YOUR GRATITUDE TOWARDS THE LORD
“Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”
1 Chronicles 16:29 (KJV)
Being thankful or showing gratitude to God is a practical thing.
And you must be intentional with it.
You spend hours praying for a miracle and not be thankful at all. Most people are not able to maintain a consistent habit of Thanksgiving because they don’t know how.
Thanksgiving also brings you into the consciousness of God’s presence.
Through the Word of God, we are not only instructed to be thankful; we are also instructed on how to give thanks to God.
There are three major things I will share with you in your practice of Thanksgiving. These are practical things that will help you develop the habit of Thanksgiving.
1. Sing songs of Praise to the Lord.
“Sing out your thanks to Him; sing praises to our God” Psalm 147:7 (TLB)
Singing spiritual songs of thanksgiving is also a practice of the Spirit.
It doesn’t matter how you feel or the lack of words, just start your day with songs of praise. As you sing praises to the Lord, you speak in tongues and rejoice in the Holy Spirit. You can take some time to write down a list of songs focused only on thanksgiving or praise. And minister those songs to the Lord.
There are times when you have to take a posture of gratitude. You can either be on your knees, lift your hands or prostrate yourself before the Lord.
This will tune your heart and mind to the thoughts of divine wonders.
2. Offer the Sacrifice of Praise by the fruit of your lips.
“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Hebrews 13:15 (NKJV)
The fruit of your lips are the words you speak. And your words must be full of thanksgiving.

Just in case you cannot spontaneously remember the right words of praise to speak, go through the scriptures and write out the thanksgiving verses which resonate with your heart. (You can find a lot through the Psalms).
And then read them out or vocalize them with a genuine heart of gratitude.
While you are engaged in this, the anointing of the Holy Spirit will begin to increase in your life.
3. Give a gift or money to support the Lord’s work.
Reread the opening verse:
“Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” 1 Chronicles 16:29 (KJV)
This offering is different from the fruit of your lips. This is the fruit of your heart.
Our Lord Jesus said,
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also,” (Matthew 6:21).
Your money is your treasure. To give your money sacrificially to the Lord’s work is great evidence that you value the Lord.
How you spend your money reveals your priorities. And your money is a symbol of your desire. Therefore, to say you are greatly thankful to God, you must follow it up with a financial gift towards His work.
This is a sacrificial giving of gratitude to the Lord.
It is a demonstration of honor.
The scripture says, “Honor the Lord with your substance” (Proverbs 3:9).
This month give a sacrificial gift to the Lord’s work.
GO AHEAD TO PRACTICE YOUR GRATITUDE TOWARDS THE LORD.

Blessed be the name of the lord my God for his unending and ceaseless love for me, truly the lord never changes
For He’s faithful to the end
His steadfast love never ceases to overwhelm us. Glory to his name forever
I practice Thanksgiving daily !
I am intentionally grateful to the Lord
I practice this with the fruit of my lips and songs of thanksgiving.
Thank you Lord Jesus
I am intentional about showing and expressing my gratitude to God. In both moments I have and I’m expecting, I give thanks.
