WHAT A JOY AND PRIVILEGE!
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever”
Psalm 23:6 (NKJV)
The beautiful thing we see about this Psalm is the revelation of the Father and His family.
To dwell is from the Hebrew word, “yâshab”, which means “to sit down; to remain; to settle to marry; make to abide continually; to be established; make to inhabit; to remain; to settle or tarry”.
The word “house“, “bayith”, depicts the concept of family. It doesn’t just mean a building structure. It means a home you were born in; a household. Bayith also has the idea of a steward. It also means a temple or tabernacle, a palace, a court, an inner chamber or the presence of a King.
Now, how do you settle, abide, or settle down in the inner chamber of a King forever when you are not a true son?
To dwell in the house of the Lord is to have a deeper relationship with the Lord.
This must be the dream and desire of every man.
To dwell in the Lord’s presence is to be established in your true home, where you can commune with the Lord.
Look at David’s deepest longing:
“Here’s the one thing I crave from God, the one thing I seek above all else: I want the privilege of living with him every moment in his house, finding the sweet loveliness of his face, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to live my life so close to him that he takes pleasure in my every prayer.” Psalm 27:4 (TPT).
Deep within the heart of every man is the silent cry to experience the Lord’s presence or to dwell in the court of our God.
God designed man to abide with Him. And it has always been His dream to bring man into that intimate relationship with Him.

All through time, man couldn’t fully have access to dwell and enjoy the Lord’s presence in its fullness.
So He decided to tabernacle among men so that He would assimilate as many as believe in Him, into Himself.
This is why God came to dwell among us through the WORD (who is Jesus the Word made flesh).
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” John 1:14.
To dwell among us means the Word made His HOME among us. It also means He TABERNACLED among us. This is for us to have access to the Lord.
“How greatly to be envied are those you have chosen to come and live with you within the holy tabernacle courts! What joys await us among all the good things there.” Psalm 65:4 (TLB)
Now we have access to the Lord’s presence or inner chamber through Christ Jesus.
What a joy!

Psalms 84:1-4, 10 TPT
[1] God of Heaven’s Armies, you find so much beauty in your people! They’re like lovely sanctuaries of your presence. [2] Deep within me are these lovesick longings, desires and daydreams of living in union with you. When I’m near you, my heart and my soul will sing and worship with my joyful songs of you, my true source and spring of life! [3] O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God, even the sparrows and swallows are welcome to build a nest among your altars to raise their young. [4] What pleasure fills those who live every day in your temple, enjoying you as they worship in your presence! Pause in his presence
[10] For just one day of intimacy with you is like a thousand days of joy rolled into one! I’d rather stand at the threshold in front of the Gate Beautiful, ready to go in and worship my God, than to live my life without you in the most beautiful palace of the wicked.
Glory to Jesus
Isaiah 25:6-9 GNT
[6] Here on Mount Zion the Lord Almighty will prepare a banquet for all the nations of the world—a banquet of the richest food and the finest wine. [7] Here he will suddenly remove the cloud of sorrow that has been hanging over all the nations. [8] The Sovereign Lord will destroy death forever! He will wipe away the tears from everyone’s eyes and take away the disgrace his people have suffered throughout the world. The Lord himself has spoken. [9] When it happens, everyone will say, “He is our God! We have put our trust in him, and he has rescued us. He is the Lord! We have put our trust in him, and now we are happy and joyful because he has saved us.”
From the Old Testament
We have read cravings of the fathers to abide with the Lord forever, Jacob said “I have waited for you salvation oh Lord”. Moses said “If you presence will not go with us, then dont bring us up from this place”. As read in the machairawithApostleBennie devotion, David said, “It is better to be a gate keeper in God’s house than to dwell in places of wickedness”
Even among Jesus’ disciples before they understood the revelation of God tabernacling with man they said on the Mount of Transfiguration out of fear, “Oh this is a good place Lord, let us make three altars, one of you, one for Moses and one for Elijah”
But now, we who were afar of has He brought near to Himself, by Grace we have been saved. Jesus Christ became the God man that brought men to God and establish a kind of fellowship we never had from the beginning.

What a privilege
I don’t allow anything to distract me from enjoying God’s presence
There are two places where the God vacuum in man can be filled and satisfied that is
The gathering of the brethren
Your closet(secret place)
These are the places where that cry within you is solved and that is where satisfaction is found
When a man who has abandoned these places is being sincere you will understand that he goes about every activity but inwardly doesn’t find a satisfactory result still feels something inside is missing that more or less makes you feel empty
Even though people are around it feels like a sense of loneliness
So other people try to use other worldly means to satisfy it so that it can improve their mood but after that activity ends they come back to square zero (the cry is still there ) it will take this walk to become fulfilled and achieve. Great results for the Lord
