YOUR GIVING IS NOT IN VAIN
“[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.”
2 Corinthians 9:6 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition)
Giving into the Lord’s assignment cannot be overemphasised.
And there are great blessings of giving.
Your giving in the Lord is also a labour of love. And nothing is done in the Lord, for the Lord and with the Lord which is in vain.
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” 1 Cori thians 15:58 (ESV).
See also:
”For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Hebrews 6:10 (NKJV).
It will be unjust for God to forget your labor of love.
Which means whatever we do unto the Lord, there is a blessedness of the Lord that comes upon it.
For every giving, there is a blessing or a harvest you will reap.
I don’t disagree with the statement that “We don’t give to be blessed, we give because we are blessed and a blessing.” This is so true. Nevertheless, there is blessing in giving.
Take a look at the opening verse again:
”[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.” 2 Corinthians 9:6 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition).
Clearly, we see that for every giving we will REAP or HARVEST its kind.
Thus, giving is as seed-sowing and will attract a kind of harvest.
As we discuss the blessing of giving, it will be expedient to look into this:
THERE IS A WAY NOT TO GIVE!
“That is why I thought it necessary to urge these brethren to go to you before I do and make arrangements in advance for this bountiful, promised gift of yours, so that it may be ready, not as an extortion [wrung out of you] but as a generous and willing gift.
[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.
Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving].” 2 Corinthians 9:5-7 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition).
– You don’t give as an extortion [wrung out of you].
– You don’t give sparingly and grudgingly.
– You don’t give reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion.
The similitude in all these kinds of giving is the unwillingness to give. To give sparingly is basically to hold back your giving. You don’t give with the mindset of how much you want to keep for yourself, but rather how much you honor the Lord.
To give in this way means you have developed the beautiful giving heart of God.
Look at this:
Romans 8:32 (KJV)
”He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”
God did not spare (hold back), he did not give grudgingly, or reluctantly, under compulsion or sorrowfully.
Such giving will not attract a bountiful harvest.
The first blessing you attract is:
GOD IS ABLE TO MAKE ALL GRACE (every favor and earthly blessing) COME TO YOU IN ABUNDANCE
Hallelujah!
Because of me the work of God is done with ease.
Thank you Jesus
I have the heart and the mind of a giver
Awesome
I have learnt that just as soul winning, service in church and consistency with God’s word is classified as labour of Love. So is GIVING TO GOD’S WORK.
And God is not unrighteous to forget. Also, I have learnt that my labour of love in God will not be in vain.
However, how I give matters.
For my giving to bring me blessings
I will give willing, bountifully and promptly….because God prices above a cheerful prompt to do it giver, whose heart is in His giving.
And God will make all Grace, every favour and earthly blessing to come upon me. So that I will always have to give unto His work.
Thank you Jesus
WAOW…..So if I want to walk in abounding graces the secret to it is in my giving.
Thank You Jesus
No matter what happens I refuse to be reluctant in my giving
I am a son of consolation.
I increase in the grace to give day by day.
I am a son of consolation.
One practical thing about giving also is that, the more you give the more you gain mastery over money..
Many people have been enslaved by money because they keep on withholding. We don’t worship money.
We assign money to work and money works for us.. Until then, money has no essence.
Glory to God!
I don’t holdback in giving!
I have the beautiful heart of giving.
I don’t hold back in giving!
I have the beautiful heart of giving.
Glory to God
I increase daily in this giving grace massively
In the name of the Lord Jesus
But first to channel one’s resources to God one must give himself to God first as the source of everything
So if you surrender everything to your source you will surely get everything and more because he is the one that supplies.
If we do not see it in this light we will always be scared to go all out whiles God has never been afraid to go all out for us no matter how much we don’t even value what he has done
If we know and see him as the source we see everything differently
