YOU ARE SEATED IN GLORY 1
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ JesusÂ
Ephesians 2:6 (KJV)
As you may know, after sin entered man and he became corrupt, man was often referred to as “Fallen”.
You can find this as the conclusion Paul the apostle also made after he argued why everyone needs the salvation of Jesus. From Romans chapter 1:18 to chapter 3:31, Paul argued that regardless of what all men are; their beliefs, religion, tradition, race or status, all men are in the same boat.
The boat of corruption, defeat of sin or unbelief and eternal condemnation.
Therefore everyone needs the salvation of Jesus through faith.
“God treats everyone alike. He accepts people only because they have faith in Jesus Christ” Romans 3:22 (CEV)
He finally concluded by saying:
“All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory” Romans 3:23 (Contemporary English Version).
He emphasized that no one can be saved by circumcision, the law of Moses and the law of the flesh but salvation is only by faith through Christ Jesus.
Without Christ, all men have fallen short of God’s glory. This means all men lost their place in the Lord’s presence because of their unbelief.
For anyone to experience God’s glory and presence, he or she must believe and receive Jesus.
“But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins.” Romans 3:24 (CEV)
So when the fallen man receives Jesus, he is made free from sin through Him.
However, this doesn’t end there. Jesus delivered all who believe in Him from sin and its bondage and brought them into Himself.
This is what Jesus did, He became sin for man (John 1:29, 2 Corinthians 5:21), He died for our offences and for our justification He was raised (Romans 4:25) and after He was raised He ascended into glory so that all who will believe in Him will share in His glory.
“After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.“ (Mark 16:19).
Jesus’ ascension was into His transcending glory.
“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory” Â 1 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV)
The believer in Christ has come into union with Christ. By the testimony of the scriptures, the believer or the saint in Christ is not only identified in the life and nature of Christ but also is Identified in and with Christ in His position and function.
This means that, the believer is identified in the death, burial, resurrection and present position of Jesus.
The believer or the saint is now seated with Christ Jesus in glory.
Observe how it was translated in the Amplified Bible:
“And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus” Ephesians  2:6
When you believed, you ceased to be a fallen man. You now became an ascended man who is seated with Christ in the heavenly places.
