THE BELT OF TRUTH 1 –
The Complete Armor Of God 3
“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness”
Ephesians 6:14 (KJV)
In the Kingdom of God, there are no civilians. Every believer in Christ, is not only a citizen but also a soldier. The born again is also part of the Lord’s army.
And as soldiers, we are at war! We are soldiers who wage war with the sense of victory, knowing that Christ has made us more than conquerors.
We are not at war with mere flesh and blood, but against principalities and rulers of darkness.
Our Lord Jesus, who is the army commander, has provided us with all the complete armor we need to withstand the wiles of the devil.
Paul the apostle writing to the Church in Ephesus, listed the whole armor of God and admonished that they put them on.
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”
Ephesians 6:13-18 (NKJV).
With these armor, you are fully fortified against the attacks of the devil and also resourced enough to terrorize the forces of darkness.
Paul the apostle used the armor of a Roman soldier to depict how a Soldier in Christ must dress for war against the unseen forces.
Interestingly, the first item Paul (the apostle), mentioned wasn’t a sword, or even a shield but the belt to gird your loins.
Some may think the last thing a soldier must put on is the belt. The first armor a Roman Soldier puts on is the belt after the usual Roman tunic.
Paul the apostle wasn’t listing the armor randomly, neither was he assuming. Remember, he was a prisoner in Rome and had a close up view of how the soldiers guarding him geared up.
Now, there is a clear meaning for what the Roman soldiers belt represent.
The belt of a Roman soldier stands for TRUTH.
We don’t have to create another meaning for it.
The belt is an essential gear in a Roman outfit. Without the belt of Truth the Roman soldier may not be balance in strength.
The Roman soldier’s belt girds his loins. It is called “cingulum militare”. It was a decorated piece of ancient Roman military gear in the form of a belt.
The loins is one of the strongest part of your body. One generates strength to move from the loins.
The whole body frame is held up at the loins or lumbus.
Even during weight or power lifting, one has to put on the weightlifting belt as the body’s extra layer of armor around the loins or lower back.
The belt provides power or strength support to the body. To the Roman soldier the belt (which is about six-inch wide leather belt) doesn’t only provide body balance support, it also holds up the other armor.
The belt of Truth is the foundational or essential armor for a Roman Soldier.
It depicts how the Truth of Christ is the anchor on which your thoughts and imaginations are held.
Our Lord Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6).
The Roman soldiers belt plays a central role among the other armor. It keeps every armor in place. This is the function of the TRUTH.
Jesus is not only full of truth; He doesn’t only speak the truth. The things He did and does are true, but Jesus is the TRUTH.
Truth is a person and He is Jesus. He is the anchor of our being.
The revelation of Jesus is the truth of your faith.
Everything about your faith and life must be founded or anchored on Jesus.
Any message, thought or concept which contradicts the knowledge or revelation of Jesus is not the truth.
The strategy and strength of the devil is DECEPTION. Therefore you stand in the evil day by holding yourself up with the revelation of Jesus.
Esteem the revelation of Jesus in your heart.
Let nothing take it away from you or sway you off it.
Selah!
We pray that:
– we shall grow in the understanding of the person and revelation of Jesus.
– we shall by no means by swayed of by any doctrine which contradicts the knowledge of Christ.

”We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.“
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 NLT

Romans 13:12 ESV
[12] The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
I put on the armour of God
Romans 13:12 TPT
[12] Night’s darkness is dissolving away as a new day of destiny dawns. So we must once and for all strip away what is done in the shadows of darkness, removing it like filthy clothes. And once and for all we clothe ourselves with the radiance of light as our weapon.
