EPISODE 168 – ALWAYS BE STEADFAST IN PRAYER
Monday 10th July, 2023
ALWAYS BE STEADFAST IN PRAYER
” Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving” Colossians 4:2 (ESV)
There is so much talk on prayer and few pray consistently or diligently.
Those who also pray, only pray because of their interests or pray only when they are confronted by troubles.
It is not wrong to pray in the day of adversity. Neither is it wrong to pray when you have a prayer topic or an issue to address.
The idea of prayer transcends making requests or asking God for something.
Prayer is not designed by God to aid the satisfaction of your cravings and self-centered appetites.
Prayer is more than running to God in time of trouble.
Prayer is a medium of communing with God in the richness of His heart and Spirit.
There is a dimension of prayer where you speak to God beyond the assent of your mind and emotions.
When you consistently commune with God through prayer, you enjoy the infusion of His life in a unique way.
Through prayer you journey with God into depths and heights which cannot be fathom by the senses.
This is why the Lord gave us the gift of praying in the Spirit.
” For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful” 1 Corinthians 14:14 (KJV).
Praying in the Spirit always, helps you to articulate hidden realities in the Spirit. You make supply of spiritual verities beyond what your mind could have carved.
There are spiritual things which may seem too coded to the natural mind. But as you constantly pray in the Spirit you decode these things unto manifestations.
To the mind, they may be mysteries and unfruitful. However, in the Spirit those words are great lights of answers.
” For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” 1 Corinthians 14:2 (KJV).
You are able to travel deep into the wells of God’s Spirit, to fetch out untapped light and graces to perform His duty in the physical realm.
Nothing can be done with God in the fullness of His Spirit without prayer.
Pray with your Spirit and prophesy with your understanding.
By this you release intense spiritual energies for greater works.
The Holy Spirit is able to hammer out spiritual channels in you, so that there will be the outflow of immeasurable power and blessings.
There are restraining forces in the world, in your school, at your work place, in your neighbourhood, etc which are determined to prevent you from fulfilling God’s predetermined purpose and counsel.
And it is a war for supremacy over the hearts of men.
We can only conquer the hearts of men not just by mere words.
It is only by words cooked in intense steadfast prayers.
” Be faithful to pray as intercessors who are fully alert and giving thanks to God. And please pray for me, that God will open a door of opportunity for us to preach the revelation of the mystery of Christ, for whose sake I am imprisoned. Pray that I would unfold and reveal fully this mystery, for that is my delightful assignment” Colossians 4:2-4 (TPT)
Apart from preaching the word to get people saved, giving financially towards the gospel and serving every way in the work of the Lord;
CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN PRAYER!
The prayers of the early saints, were not merely centered on their needs.
They prayed interceding for the salvation of souls and for the spread of the gospel of Jesus. Anything they prayed for, which even was about themselves, had the goal of the prosperity of the gospel.
See what the scriptures said concerning Epaphras:
“Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God” Colossians 4:12 (NKJV)
Starting from today, PRAY EARNESTLY AND CONSISTENTLY EVERYDAY.
Don’t be too busy for prayer. Don’t be lazy. Don’t procrastinate prayer times. Make prayer your utmost priority.
Make supply of divine ability into the day and the assignment the Lord has given you.

Prayer opens me up to understanding coded things.
With prayer, I decode mysteries in the Spirit
I conquer the hearts of many with prayer and not just mere words
It is also wonderful and amazing to know that as I pray, the Lord enriches me with the right words to speak as He said in His word that I shall put my words in your mouth
As I pray I ma imbued with grace to speak the right words fearlessly
The gospel is no longer a mystery. It has been demystified I’m Christ Jesus
For the Lord shall bring justice to His people that cry into Him day and night
Sir please I do have a question. In Romans 8 verse 8, it says ,”I that tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Sir please does it mean that our result we get through prayer is a demonstration of faith?
It is wonderful and amazing to know that as I pray, the peace of God fills my heart even if I was going through troubles
Indeed , prayer does more to you than the results it just brings.
Prayer is an opportunity to communicate with the father.
