THE CRUX OF THE GOSPEL 3

” And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:14 (KJV)

One of the greatest news of the universe is that, Jesus died for the sin of the world, and rose up again by the glory of the Father for the justification of many who receive Him.
The resurrection of Jesus is the unmatched peak in the annals of eternity.
In His resurrection, our Lord Jesus, didn’t tiptoe His way out of death as a coward looking for an escape. He defeated the cohorts of death, broke the claws of darkness and walked out of the tomb as the Victorious LORD OF ALL.
By His resurrection, we are justified, we partook of the newness of life and experienced the immeasurable greatness of the power of God in us.
There is more His resurrection achieved for us and demonstrated.
We have already looked at some three (3) items concerning the resurrection of Jesus.
Now we can go on further:

4. The Resurrection of Jesus Authenticated the Word of God
It was evidential that, whatever God says is true.
Peter the apostle, explained a Psalm of David to the Jews concerning the resurrection of Jesus. When he unveiled the reality of the scriptures to his audience, they were cut to the heart and got saved. (Acts 2:37)
Now let the Bible speak to you directly, read patiently, and in-breath the spirit and life of these words as your heart burns with light:

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—
Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
For David says concerning Him:
‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face,
For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken. Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad;
Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
You have made known to me the ways of life;
You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’
“Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself:
The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
“ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
Acts 2:22-36 (NKJV)
(See also Psalm 16:8-11; Psalm 132:11;Psalm 68:18; 110:1)

Now, one of the most detailed Prophecies of the crucifixion and death of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, couldn’t end without articulating His resurrection. The Prophet Isaiah prophesied of Jesus’ divinity, birth, life, death, resurrection and His eternal reign.
He said in his prophecy concerning Jesus’ death and resurrection:

“Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities.” Isaiah 53:10-11

There are some few items to take note of concerning the resurrection of Jesus:
– Though His soul was made an offering for sin, He shall see His seed and prolong His days. “To prolong” also speaks of long life. How can you be an offering for sin and still have long life? The only way to have life after being offered or killed as a sin offering, is to resurrect.
-You can only see the labor of your soul when you are still alive. Again the Prophet is speaking of resurrection.
– “My righteous Servant shall JUSTIFY MANY”
Remember from the epistles of Paul to the Romans, we realised our Lord Jesus was raised for our justification (Read more here).
Without Jesus’ resurrection there wouldn’t have been the validation of our Justification.
Now what Paul said to the brethren in Corinth should make more sense;

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (KJV)

Beloved, this must be a great joy to you that we have not believed empty fables. The resurrection of Jesus affirms the surety of both the scriptures and the words of Jesus.
“…He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies.

He will be killed, but three days later he will rise from the dead.” Mark 9:31 (NLT)

Whatever the scriptures has said concerning your life in Christ is true.
Live in this consciousness that God’s word does not fall to the ground.
Hallelujah!
DIG DEEPER:

(Psalm 22:14-31;Hosea 6:1-3; Genesis 3:15; John 2:13-22; Matthew 16:21; Acts 26:22;)

WE PRAY

That the word of God concerning our lives shall have its full expression and fulfillment. In the name of Jesus.

The resurrection of Jesus has brought me a newness of life.
Death could not hold onto our LORD JESUS.
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4 verse 17
Death cannot hold unto me.
It authenticated that whatever was said by the Lord is true.
Thank you for bearing my iniquities.
I have been justified by JESUS CHRIST.
God’s word does not fall to the ground.

Thank you for your message of light, Lord.
Your bones were out of joint for me.
You were laid in death.

Those who seek Jesus will indeed praise you.
All nations bow before you Lord.
All who go down to the dust will kneel before Him.
We will proclaim your righteousness.
He has healed us, and binds our wounds, On the third day after the resurrection.
