FREE BUT NOT CHEAP
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23 (Amplified Bible)
To which extent do you see the sacrifice of Jesus?
Was it a mere martyr’s death ?
Understand that Jesus did not die for a religious belief nor a political position.
He didn’t die for any offense committed.
” So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.” Hebrews 4:14-15 (NLT)
What then did He die for?
This is the answer:
“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “ Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 (NKJV)
Jesus died as the lamb of God. And His death was to terminate the sin of the world.
Understand this, sin was a legal debt, it had wages which man couldn’t pay.
Thus, man was enslaved by it even unto eternity.
Man’s works and self-efforts couldn’t satisfy the debt of sin.
Even man’s works and self-efforts were reckoned as debt!
(See Romans 6:23; Romans 4:4).
The only way man can pay for the penalty of sin, is by death. Death is the wages of sin. (Romans 6:23).
” In fact under the Law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness [neither release from sin and its guilt, nor cancellation of the merited punishment].” Hebrews 9:22 (Amplified)
But thanks be to God, that when we were yet sinners, when the price of our sin was so expensive, He came through Christ to make full payment for our debts.
This was a demonstration of His love towards us.
“But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (Amplified Bible)
In His death, Jesus, paid the penalty of sin, which is the condemnation of death.
He paid it in full.
He paid it fully, that we will freely receive the gift of Life. (Did you read the opening verse? Look at it again).
We freely have the gift of eternal life through His death, but it was not cheap.
See this as well:
” You were God’s expensive purchase, paid for with tears of blood, so by all means, then, use your body to bring glory to God!” 1 Corinthians 6:20 (TPT).
It took God’s blood to purchase you.
If it was cheap, our works wouldn’t have been reckoned as debt. Our works and self efforts would have paid for it.
” Christ paid the price to free us from the curse that the laws in Moses’ Teachings bring by becoming cursed instead of us. Scripture says, “Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.”
Christ paid the price so that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to all the people of the world through Jesus Christ and we would receive the promised Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:13-14
(God’s Word Translation).
“Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God.” 1Peter 1:18-21 (Message)
This is why your salvation is eternal. It was fully paid with an eternal blood. It cost God plenty. This wasn’t cheap, though it’s a free gift. It was too expensive we couldn’t pay. Thank God He paid it all in Christ.
Beloved in Christ, your cost price is God Himself. Therefore, don’t live as a slave!
“Since a great price was paid for your redemption, stop having the mind-set of a slave.” 1 Corinthians 7:23 (TPT).

Hallelujah
My Cost price is God himself.
It cost him a lot to purchase me.
I don’t live with the mindset of a slave
wow
Jesus paid for my death and it was not cheap. It took the blood of Jesus to bring us out of the curse. As a seed of Christ, I have received the inheritance of Abraham. It was because of Jesus Christ that I have a future in God. I have been cleansed with the eternal blood of Jesus Christ so my salvation is secured.
The Father’s love is so amazing. That He will go every extent to save us as seen in Psalm 46 verse 9. He is an all victorious God.
It is also so wonderful that the Lord rescued me from my empty way of life not with perishable things such as gold and silver but with the precious blood of the lamb which is forever eternal. That is my value is more than precious silver and gold. My cost price is God himself as seen in 1 Peter 1 verse 18 to 19.
Ha
My name is eternally kept for good by the shepherd of souls.
Now Christ is the mediator of the new covenant because he died to set us free.
Rev.5.9 – And they sang a new song: Worthy! Take the scroll, open its seals. Slain! Paying in blood, you bought men and women, Bought them back from all over the earth, Bought them back for God.
Rev.5.10 – Then you made them a Kingdom, Priests for our God, Priest-kings to rule over the earth.
Glorrrreeeeeyyyyyy
Isa.44.22 I’ve wiped the slate of all your wrongdoings. There’s nothing left of your sins. Come back to me, come back. I’ve redeemed you.”
Isa.53.12 Therefore I’ll reward him extravagantly–the best of everything, the highest honors–Because he looked death in the face and didn’t flinch, because he embraced the company of the lowest. He took on his own shoulders the sin of the many, he took up the cause of all the black sheep.
Ohh God.. you are Soooo Good
God purchased me with His blood, therefore I am valuable and highly Expensive to God.
Thank you, Lord Jesus,
For I’m not a slave,
I don’t have the mindset of a slave,
I was by and in Christ Himself.
