ABUNDANT FRUIT-BEARERS 4
“My Father is glorified and honored by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples.” John 15:8 (NKJV)
From our previous discussion, we realised, bearing much fruits is the ordination of every disciple of Jesus.
We don’t bear fruits to become disciples of Jesus. As disciples of Jesus, we are fruit bearers.
From the opening verse, we noticed, fruit-bearing is an essential part of Kingdom discipleship.
A critical factor to consider:
” My Father is glorified and honored by this, when you bear much fruit…” John 15:8
You don’t bear-fruits for your fame. When you bear much fruits, the Father is glorified and honored in you.
The vital goal of man is to glorify God.
In my teachings and writings, I keep emphasing on this:
That God has given us His life and become our inward supply for our enjoyment. And we are His expression.
Beloved, as we express God and His Life, many see His glory and honor.
See what Jesus said in His prayer:
” I have glorified You on the earth by completing the work You gave Me to do.” John 17:4 (Holman Bible).
Our Lord Jesus lived to glorify the Father. He showed us what should be the preeminent essence of our actions.
Whatever we do in the Kingdom, they are chiefly to bring glory and honor to God.
” Whoever speaks [to the congregation], is to do so as one who speaks the oracles (utterances, the very words) of God. Whoever serves [the congregation] is to do so as one who serves by the strength which God [abundantly] supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified [honored and magnified] through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:11 (Amplified Bible).
Whatever we do (including what we eat and drink), must be done unto God’s glory. (1 Corinthians 10:31).
It shouldn’t just be about our benefits. Our motive of service to God and bearing of fruits should be rooted in bringing Glory to God alone (not to make any man famous, or to satisfy our selfish desires or ambitions).
This was what the Reformers called, Soli Deo Gloria.
The phrase Soli Deo Gloria (is a latin phrase) originated out of Protestant Reformation that took place in Europe (in 16th and 17th century). They sought to reform or correct some perceived doctrinal corruption against the gospel of our Lord Jesus, within the Church.
Soli Deo Gloria is part of the five phrases of beliefs the Reformers clung to, called the Five Solas (Sola means “Alone”). These five statements became the slogans of the Reformation.
Which are:
Sola Scriptura (“Scripture alone”), Sola Fide (“faith alone”), Sola Gratia (“grace alone”), Solus Christus (“Christ alone”), and Soli Deo Gloria (“to the glory of God alone”).
Together, they state that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, with God’s Word alone as the highest authority, for the glory of God alone.
All things in Christ are for God’s glory alone.
Through our fruits bearing, many develop God-admiring thoughts, appreciate, adore, develop deep affection towards Him and become totally devoted to God.
This does not deny the truth that we have advantages in our service to God. It is to establish our hearts and direct the motive of our deeds toward the GLORY OF THE FATHER.
“ Every detail works to your advantage and to God’s glory: more and more grace, more and more people, more and more praise!” 2 Corinthians 4:15 (MSG).

WE PRAY
We pray that in our pursuit to bear much more fruits and service to the Lord shall be by the strength which God [abundantly] supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified [honored and magnified] in us, through Jesus Christ
